The Ferrari for sale you see at your local exotic-car dealership carries the name
of Enzo Ferrari, the man behind the brand. The company was founded in 1929 as a
sponsor for race cars. In 1947, the company started offering street-legal vehicles
for sale. In 1969, Enzo sold the company to the Fiat group. Before Enzo died in
1988, he oversaw the release of the Ferrari F40, the last car he helped design.
Unlike exotics in the past, used exotics are now holding their value better than
ever. In the past, exotic cars started with a high price but saw a large drop in
value as the years passed. Today's exotics slowly lose their value but start to
regain value after a number of years. Ferrari currently offers many types of vehicles
for sale. Most of these cars can be found on the used Ferrari lot, if you’re looking
for a deal. Ferrari current line-up includes four-seaters, convertibles, and cars
designed for the race track.
The F430 is entry level model. It utlizies a mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive design
and is powered by a 4.3-liter V-8 that screams all the way to its 8500 redline while
producing an amazing 483 horsepower. The car is available in either coupe or convertible
form. Even though this is currently its entry level vehicle, the F430 is not cheap.
Expect to pay somewhere close to $200,000 for one. Ferrari introduced the F430 Scuderia
late in 2007 as a race-track-ready version of the already stellar sports car.
The 599 GTB is one of the better grand tourers for sale on the market today. It
continues the lineage of V-12-engined Ferraris that have ensured the company’s success
since 1947. The 599 stows a 6.0-liter V-12 under its sexy hood metal. The engine
makes 620 horsepower and 448 lbs/ ft of torque. The 599 is considered the company’s
flagship model.
The 612 Scaglietti is the comapny's four-seat offering. Designed as a 2+2, the 612
doesn’t lose anything in terms of performance despite being able to seat two more
people than the 599. The 612 is powewred by a 5.7-liter V-12 engine that makes 533
horsepower and 433 lbs. /ft of torque.
The new car for 2009 is the California. This car is expected to be come with a folding
hardtop, have a 2+2 layout, and be powered by a 4.3-liter V-8 making around 450
horsepower. The next hot exotic, the California, may sit below the F430 as the entry
level model.
