This change, paired with a decreased curb weight, decreases the former 0 to 60 acceleration speed by 0.9 seconds and improves the top speed by 7 MPH. Now capable of reaching 137 MPH, the super SUV includes a revised suspension that includes improved stiffness, independent front steering and rack-and-pinion steering which all allow drivers to better control the vehicle at maximum speeds. From there, Mercedes-AMG opted to replace the traditional 7-speed automatic transmission with a more contemporary 9-speed automatic. Taking a deeper look into the G63, the interior has also undergone a big transformation. The key concepts embraced for the interior appear to be creating a larger and more modern space. To reach these goals, Mercedes-AMG added more legroom in both the front and the back of the SUV and incorporated updated materials and finishes along with up-to-date technologies. A 12.3-inch screen serves as the display for the instrument cluster as well as an innovative infotainment system.
