Maybe some of you read our 2010 Ferrari California overview. Maybe some of you saw that we included a six-speed manual transmission as an offering in the technical specifications. Maybe some of you thought we were crazy. Well, Ferrari is indeed going to offer the California with a six-speed manual transmission. The car with gears shifted manually will be a tad slower than the car that changes gears through the seven-speed dual-wet-clutch transmission. Zero-to-60 mph will take 4.2 seconds, approximately 0.3 seconds slower than the DSG-equipped car. Gas mileage will also take a hit, with an average return lowering from 17.8 miles per gallon to 15.8 miles per gallon. So is the feeling of the clutch and the clink of gear shifts worth the penalties in performance and gas mileage?
