Maserati North America, partnered with Architectural Digest, has ended its search for the finest garages in the United States. The competition consisted of two categories: existing garages and concept garages.
The winner of the existing garage is Holger Schubert of Los Angeles, California. The space is located on the upper level of a 1953 ranch-style home and includes a slide-away LCD TV, built-in bookshelf, a storage room, small kitchen, bathroom, and library. The aluminum grating where the car is parked doubles as a ramp that raises the car by 5 inches, allowing the car to roll out before being started.

The winner of the concept garage is Chris Altman of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. As you would expect, the goal with the concept was to redefine the notion that a garage is a place for storage to a place where the focus is on the automobile.
