Lamborghini announced it will be halting production for two weeks between February and March due to the weakening market for exotic cars. Production is said to affect around 300 members of its 1000+ union workforce. The union agreed to the work-time reduction in order to protect against future job cuts. Despite the cuts to production, Lamborghini says that it will not abandon its growth plans and will continue to introduce one new product every year.
Lamborghini joins Bentley, BMW, Toyota, GM, Chrysler, Ford, Honda, and others that have halted production to cut costs in the current economic climate.
