Remember those rare stories about F430 cars suddenly catching on fire? Well, Ferrari has now announced a recall on 1,950 2005–2007 F430 Spider units due to a defect with the hydraulic hoses for the convertible top that are locate in the engine bay. The heat from the engine may cause a leak to form which could ultimately set the car on fire. Ferrari will place a shield between the engine and the hydraulic lines to protect them from cracking. Unfortunately this recall doesn’t answer why coupes, like the one pictured below, have also been known to suddenly combust.
