A few notable cars were found while browsing duPont REGISTRY’s inventory this week. The Mosler MT900S is named after Warren Mosler, the man behind the machine and owner of Mosler Automotive. Starting with a carbon fiber monocoque, the company slaps in a Corvette-derived engine which, in conjunction with the approximately 2,000 pounds of mass to move around, makes perfomance brisk; ripping to sixty in close to 3.0 seconds and on to a top speed of more than 200 mph. Another notable edition is a 1999 Shelby Series I. One of 248 ever produced, the Series I was the only car ever produced by Carroll Shelby from the ground up. Utilizing a carbon fiber body and an Oldsmobile-Aurora-based 4.0-liter V-8 that makes 320 hp, the Series One is powerful enough to jet the car to sixty in less than 5 seconds.
