Aston Martin has always referred to the One-77’s output as more than 700 hp. But as full production status draws near, Aston Martin has come clean and is promising a new higher figure of 750. Along with news of the additional horsepower and verification of the car’s previously claimed 553 lb-ft of torque, Aston Martin also announced that the first units will go on sale next year with an asking price of $1.5 million dollars, a little lower than the $1.7- and $1.9-million figures originally being reported.
With the new 750-hp announcement, Aston Martin says the One-77's 7.3-liter V-12 engine has officially become the world’s most powerful naturally aspirated engine. It is also Aston Martin's fastest production model ever, hitting a claimed 220 mph in some pre-production test runs.
