Spyker may revive D8 Perking to Paris with help from Saab

Off and on. Like many concepts that get some great media exposure, fan craze, and customer desire, the D8 Peking to Paris (originally dubbed the D12 Peking to Paris) has had a number of will-be-available-in-20?? dates since it made its debut at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show. Despite the delays and now that the acquisition of Saab is out of the way, Spyker will focus back on bringing a SUV to the marketplace. Utilizing Saab underpinnings, Spyker calls it a SSUV, which is an acronym for Super Sports Utility Vehicle. Unfortunately, since 2006 competition has gotten down right harsh because of the X6 M, new Cayenne, ML63 AMG, and Range Rover Sport and that “Super” part might not be as fitting. The concept came with a V-12 engine (thus the D12 name) but if it does go to production it will get a V-8, most likely producing 550 hp.
