The 993 generation of 911 is something of a religious icon to the Porsche faithful. The last of the aircooled cars, the 993 is the final iteration and furthest evolution of what many would consider to be the ‘Classic 911’. At the time of its release, Car and Driver described the 1995 Carrera as “the finest example of the 911 ever created” and to this day, many Porsche enthusiasts would continue to herald it as such.

Almost everything in the 993 Carrera had been updated from the previous generation. The body, chassis, and drivetrain had all been directly revised from the 964, and the suspension was a brand new setup, designed to reduce the 911’s infamous tendency to snap-spin upon throttle liftoff. An upgraded 3.6-liter flat-six engine now produced 270 horsepower and brought the 993 Carrera’s 0 to 60 time down under 5 seconds. While by today’s standards those figures are typical in the latest Toyota Camry, the 993 Carrera was no slouch for 1995 and would keep up with other sports cars of the era such as the Ferrari F355 and even the Lamborghini Diablo. Truly a sports car for the 90’s, the 993 Carrera was the pinnacle of the air-cooled era and a culmination of all the great 911’s that came before it. 

Now offered for sale, the Blue Chip Private Sales team is incredibly proud to present this 1995 911 Carrera Cabriolet, finished in Guards Red over Cashmere Beige and Black Partial Leather. A 718 production code model, this 993 completed production in April of 1994, making it one of the first 993 Cabriolets off the production line and one of the first 993 Cabriolets to hit the shores of the United States. This early-production example was tastefully specified from the factory with optional equipment including 17” Cup Design Wheels, an AM/FM Radio with a Cassette Player, and a Power Seat Package. 

A recent service from February of 2023 performed by Blue Chip Services includes a complete vehicle inspection with the following services addressed: an engine oil service with an oil laboratory analysis report, a brake fluid flush, the replacement of the ignition system, the replacement of the engine air filter, the replacement of the fuel filter, the replacement of all drive belts, a four-wheel alignment and rebalance of all four wheels, the replacement of the driver’s side window switch, replacement of the third brake light assembly, and the replacement of the fuel pressure regulator. Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires wear 2020 date codes on the front and 2021 date codes on the rear. 

Just 45,723 miles from new, this 993 Carrera Cabriolet was purchased by the current owner from the original owner after 26 years of ownership. This example comes complete with an official Porsche Product Specification sheet, which is signed by the President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America and includes information such as the VIN, Model Year/Type, Production Completion Date, Exterior Paint Color/Code, Engine Type, Engine Displacement, Transmission Type, Interior Material Color/Code, and Optional Equipment. Also included in the sale is a CARFAX Vehicle History Report, service records from February of 2023, a four-wheel alignment report from March of 2023, a Blackstone Laboratories Oil Sample Analysis Report, a duplicate of the original owner’s California title, original manufacturer’s literature, two keys, and a clean Montana title.
