2015 Chevrolet Camaro COPO  - 350ci V8 - 2.9L Whipple Supercharger  - 530 Horsepower  - 3 Speed Automatic Transmission  - Serial #15 - Black Over Black Interior  - Never Raced  As most Camaro enthusiasts know, back in the late 60's a few Chevrolet Dealerships figured out a way to order Camaros using the Central Office Production Order (COPO) route rather than the standard and more familiar, Regular Production Option (RPO).  Years later Chevrolet began to produce the COPO Camaro as a very limited production race car, which is not street legal.  A number of engine options were available to customers.  The car came with full NHRA approved roll cages, bucket seats, special gauges, and a racing shifter among other features.  It was rumored that the 2015 model year COPO Camaro would be the last year.  That was not the case. Regardless, the COPO Camaro cars were built to be contenders in the NHRA Stock Eliminator, and Super Stock classes. COPOs were optioned before being built, and thanks to many options, each of the 69 cars built for 2015 is unique.  Offered here is a COPO Camaro that wears serial number 15 of 2015.  The car has never been raced, and was delivered new with two engines.  The 350ci V8 with a 2.9L Whipple Supercharger strapped to the top, and a 427ci V8, which remains in a crate directly from Chevy Performance.  Finished in black, this is a menacing looking car.  Since it has never been raced, and was part of a private collection, the car is in very nice condition.  No frills Gloss Black paint does the job of making the car look shiny, while the forward rake, large rear tire at the back of the car, and wheelie bars give away that this car is built to go fast.  The person who ordered this COPO opted for the Weld Racing wheels wrapped in Hoosier tires which provide a contact patch on the road or the strip.  The factory dashboard, door panels, and steering wheel are a familiar sight, but those items are the few things that you may recognize from a standard showroom Camaro.  An NHRA certified roll cage was approved at the time of the production of the car for 8.50 or slower Â¼ mile passes. Racing seats, RJS harnesses, auxiliary Auto Meter gauges, and master power switches are a few interior highlights.  Get the best of both worlds with this COPO, since this car has two engines - a more modern Supercharged 350ci V8, and a 427ci V8 which is a nod to the 1969 COPO Camaros.  Currently, the Supercharged 350ci V8 resides under the hood of the car, while a numbers matching 427ci V8, which is crated directly from Chevy Performance, also comes with the car. The transmission is a 3 Speed ATI transmission.  A quick look at the 350ci V8 engine that sits just below the carbon fiber hood reveals that there is a 2.9 liter Whipple Supercharger strapped to the top of the engine.  COPO Camaros with similar specs have been known to run in the 9 second range in the quarter mile, so unless you're an experienced drag racer this car may be a bit of a handful for you.  Since there were only 69 made each year, these COPOs are likely to become collector vehicles.  This car is specced nicely and has not been raced, so it is a great example of a COPO which can be used on the strip, or added to a collection. The body style was a unique one-year offering and Chevrolet really knocked it out of the park with the design of this car that still remains current today, so much so that the sixth generation of Chevrolet's Ponycar was a modern re-imagination of the 1969 Camaro's classic design cues. Featured here is a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro that has been treated to a tasteful and fully functional resto-mod that will be sure to turn heads as it cruises the boulevard.  The custom metallic orange paint is well applied over professionally executed bodywork. The finish has been polished to a deep luster as has all the stainless window trim and rear bumper chrome. The door handles and factory emblems have been shaved for a cleaner look and a custom ground effects package nicely compliments the classic lines on this Camaro. A factory rear deck spoiler maintains the stock feel while the C-5 taillights are a nod to the modern era F-body cars. Upfront the classic hide-away headlights have been updated with electric motors and a fiberglass cowl induction hood with a taller scoop adds to the muscularity of this late 60's muscle car. The combination of smaller Mickey Thompson polished aluminum 5-spoke wheels and tires upfront with larger matching M/T wheels and tires out back really contributes to the menacing stance of this Chevrolet.  Inside the interior is completely custom, having been designed and built by renowned Southwest Michigan restoration shop, All Speed Customs. A full roll cage is in place and has been painted to match the exterior paint. The large rear wheel tubs pretty much render the rear seating useless and the area has been re-purposed for storage and to house the rear speakers. This clever theme continues in the trunk compartment with handmade compartments for additional storage and provide access to the fuel cell and the battery which has been relocated to the trunk space. Upfront, custom-covered racing seats feature leather upholstery with diamond-patterned suede inserts and 5-point racing harness belts. A molded dash insert is painted body color and houses a full set of AutoMeter Ultra-Lite gauges and is framed by a Billet Specialties three-spoke steering wheel sitting atop a tilt steering column. The door panels are custom built and the dash pad has been wrapped in leather. The center console is custom-fabricated and houses the BM Mega-Star Shifter, featuring a leather shifter boot. The console further features billet power window switches, Vintage Air controls, Alpine stereo AM/FM/CD player, and custom cup holders, one important detail Chevrolet engineers left out in 1969!  Under the hood has been artfully appointed with many custom touches. The firewall and inner fender wells have been smoothed and painted to match the body color and is complimented by a hand-fabricated radiator filler panel that keeps the cold air directed into the aluminum radiator with electric fans. The Chevrolet Performance 502cid big block V8 features a polished Ram Jet fuel injection system and a set of fabricated polished aluminum valve covers that add to the shine under the hood. Further touches include a March serpentine pulley system and braided hose with billet hood hinges supporting the fully detailed cowl induction hood. Needless to say, this engine compartment is detailed and ready to show at your local cruise in.  Underneath, this chassis is fully detailed with the floors and rear subframe painted body color. The front suspension has been upgraded to tubular A-arms with coil-over springs and shocks with a Hotchkiss HD stabilizer bar. A quick-ratio power steering box allows for more accurate turning and a shortened turning ratio. The 550hp from the big V8 is transferred through a GM 400 Turbo-Hydramatic 3-speed automatic transmission to a Dana 44 differential with 4.11:1 gears. This shortened rearend is supported by a four-link suspension with a Panhard bar and coil-over suspension mounted to a hand-fabricated rear subframe that ties into the front factory subframe. Wilwood four-wheel power disc brakes help bring this street rocket to a halt. A polished aluminum fuel cell fits between the rear rails running the fuel through custom bent stainless-steel fuel lines up to the motor vie intake electric fuel pump. This car sounds amazing with a throaty sound coming from a stainless steel 3" Pypes exhaust with Sound-Pro mufflers.  This car looks fast sitting still, and once you fire it up it sounds fast as it rumbles through the tailpipes, so as they say if it looks like a "duck" and it sounds like a "duck", well you get the picture!
