Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG For Sale

Used Mercedes C63 AMG For Sale

For the first 40 or so years that the performance division of MB was in existence, it focused on improved performance. They first offered the Mercedes C63 AMG for sale that same year and was recognized for its incredible performance and easy drivability. Through modifications, body size reductions, and performance-enhancing additions, they’ve taken existing models and pushed them to the next level. But, in 2008, the started from the ground up. The result? C-Class. Although the engine is a detuned version of the V8 appearing in other models, it still made some history-making marks.

Featuring a powerful 6.2-liter V8, the 4-door became the world’s fastest sedan upon its debut, instantly ensuring its position as a lauded classic for the marque. Specialty variants were produced shortly thereafter, and in 2011 the MB Black Series was introduced. Based on the Coupe, the Black Series cranked power outputs up from 451 hp and 443 lb-ft to 510 hp and 457 lb-ft. Its engine borrowed many features from the SLS, all of which contributed to its orchestral sounds and 3.9 second 0-60 mph time.

In recognition of the 2014 end of a production run for the four-door version, the 507 Edition was released. Landing just below the output of the Black Series, the power was increased to 507 hp while the top speed was extended to 176 mph. Production of the C 63 has continued, and consumer demand for this powerful V8 does not seem to be showing any signs of slowing.

Playing with the speed of social media interactions, Mercedes-Benz introduced the world to the 2016 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe via their Facebook page in late summer 2015. Continuing a running streak of hotly anticipated models coming from the German based automaker, the 2016 C63 received some impressive upgrades over the past two years. The 2015 Mercedes C63, introduced in September 2014, featured the same 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 engine found in the GT.

The GT was the first model exclusively designed from scratch by the team, and was later followed by the GT S. The original C63 was one of the most popular Mercedes-Benz models to date, and in honor of the move from a naturally aspirated to a turbocharged engine, the Legacy Edition was introduced in early June 2015, built specifically for South Africa. The C63 made its official debut a short distance from Mercedes development center at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt am Main in September. If sedans are too mundane, a coupe version is available.

The C-Class is defined as a compact executive car. Some might qualify it as ‘entry-level,’ but there is nothing entry-level about this vehicle. Let’s put aside the fact that it’s an AMG for a moment. The C-Class is an overachiever at the most basic level. Its shape was honed in the wind tunnel, its engine perfected at the racetrack. It’s a Mercedes; of course, it’s darn near perfect. Add the magic of AMG, and you’ve got a veritable piece of genius German engineering in your hands. A rival of the legendary BMW M3 and the Audi RS5, C63 has a Twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 that produces 487 horsepower and 443 foot-pounds of torque. In efforts to finally put the C63 AMG vs. BMW M3 debate to bed, Mercedes upped the ante in the drivability department by intently focusing on handling dynamics, rather than brute power. The result is completely redesigned steering, brakes, suspension and electronic stability control, making the new C63 hard to argue against. When it comes to delivering a true competitor to the BMW M3, the C63 AMG has done just that.

Edition 507

It was fun while it lasted. The 510-horsepower, limited-edition, Black Series C-Class was a one-year special. Actually, to be more specific, it was more like a 90- car special in the United States, and we are sure it sold out quickly. All the more reason for Mercedes-Benz to inject its performance addicts with one more dose. You know, something to wean them off the track and back on the street. For that, we have the Edition 507. It even looks like the Black Series thanks to its two hood outlets. It borrows the pistons, connecting rods and crankshaft from the SLS to increase the output of the 6.2-liter engine to nearly Black Series values. It also carries new lighter compound brakes to bring that extra power to a stop. In terms of straight-line performance, it’s neck and neck with the Black Series, with a zero to 60 time of 4.1 seconds. But from there, it’s all C63. Inside you find luxury and comfort, without depriving you of a sport feel. To create such a happy median Mercedes gives the driver a 3-spoke performance steering wheel with AMG shift paddles. Nappa leather on the newly redesigned bucket seats, perforated leather on the dash and aluminum trim ensure you never forget that you are driving some of the best in luxury. For comfort on both the street and on the track, you’re equipped with Electronic Stability Program (ESP). This system has been adjusted specifically for the aggressive performance of Edition 507 and given the first ever 3-stage ESP sport function. It may not be a Black Series, but it certainly compares without compromise.

2019 Mercedes-AMG C63

Mercedes recognizes when they have created a masterpiece, which is why the all new C63 has received only a handful of upgrades. Although these upgrades are subtle to the untrained eye, they are noteworthy and unique to the 2019 model. To start, the latest C63 displays a Panamericana grille in place of the former horizontal bar. Also noted on the exterior of the vehicle are redesigned LED headlights and an altered rear diffuser though the taillights retain their former shape. Prominent characteristics like the side skirts and alloy wheels remain in place, as does the overall shape and style of the exterior body. A similar approach was taken regarding the interior of the C63 with most aspects like the Nappa leather upholstery remaining untouched. Buyers will have new options, however, when it comes to the trim featured and will be treated to a spectacular 10.25-inch touch-screen media display. The biggest change comes under the hood for the latest C63 with a 9-speed automatic transmission in place of the former 7-speed. Despite the transmission switch, the 4.0-liter V8 Biturbo engine with a production of 503 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque is unaltered. This beastly engine still enables the C63 to go from 0 to 60 in 4 seconds flat and allows it to retain a top speed of 155 MPH. Clearly, Mercedes-AMG understands that there is no need to mess with perfection when it comes to the power and general design of this fan favorite sports car.

Buyers of the AMG C63 S have the option of three body styles: coupe, sedan or cabriolet. The handcrafted biturbo 4.0-liter V8’s 503-hp and 516 pound-foot of torque combined with its AMG SPEEDSHIFT® MCT 9-speed transmission results in a 0 to 60 dash of under 4 seconds, with top speeds leveling off around 180 miles per hour. Inside, drivers will find key standard features like the AMG Performance steering wheel with Touch Control Buttons, and AMG DYNAMIC SELECT with six drive modes. Optional AMG Performance seats and 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster are also available. In any of its body styles, the AMG C63 S proves that Mercedes knows how to meld beauty with the heart of a beast.

  • PRO: A worthy more affordable replacement for the favored Black Series
  • CON: Going to miss the wide track with adjustable suspension
