To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION at RM Sothebys' Monaco event, 10 - 11 May 2024.  â¬1,900,000 - â¬2,300,000 EUR   Lamborghini's groundbreaking supercar reimagined for the 21st Century One of 112 produced  One of only five finished in Luci del Bosco and the sole example with a Bianco Leda interior Acquired new in Germany; showing only 110 kilometres on the odometer at cataloguing time    To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the legendary Countach, Lamborghini reimagined the iconic supercar with a futuristic design paying homage to the groundbreaking original unveiled to the public in 1974. The name-an expression of surprise and amazement in Piedmontese dialect-carried over, but the car itself was reinvented from the ground up.   Though the unmistakable silhouette, hexagonal wheel openings, and scissor doors remain, the rest of its forms and details have been masterfully reworked. Building on the legacy of its predecessor, the Countach LPI 800-4 sets a new standard of visionary design that will carry the company into the future and inspire subsequent generations of supercars, just as the original did. Still immeasurably impactful, its overall presentation is far more refined and mature-the impetuous Countach all grown up. Likewise, its interior-with harmonious, flowing shapes-is more polished and accommodating than that of the earlier Countach.  Underpinning the carbon fibre bodywork is the chassis of the Aventador and the hybrid powertrain of the ultra-exclusive Sian driving all four wheels. The set-up combines Lamborghini's impressive 6.5-litre V-12 with a small electric motor drawing from a supercapacitor. Combined output is 802 horsepower. Though output from the electric motor is modest, it serves to smooth out the often-abrupt shifts of the single-clutch automated manual transmission, creating a more refined driving experience while enhancing the screaming V-12's blood-boiling performance.   With only 112 produced-all sold before the car even premiered in August of 2021-the Countach LPI 800-4 is incredibly rare, making the example offered here a truly unique opportunity for the discerning supercar collector. Acquired new by its first and only owner in Germany, it is one of just five produced in Luci del Bosco, according to the supplying dealer, and the only one specified with a Bianco Leda interior, which also features Nero Ade accents and Bronze contrast stitching. The rich and tastefully muted color scheme is a welcome contrast to the often brash hues of other Lamborghinis, serving to underscore the more refined persona of this timeless classic. Well-coordinated details, such as the matte bronze wheels, black brake calipers, and exposed carbon fibre, add depth to the subtle presentation.   Only recently registered for the first time and with just 110 kilometres showing on the odometer, this pristine Countach LPI 800-4 remains as it was on the showroom floor, impeccable. To fully appreciate the Lamborghini Countach, one must look back to its origins in the mid-1970s, when sports car meant an MG or a Triumph, and the term supercar had only recently been coined for this car's predecessor, the Miura. Doors usually opened only one way, outward, and bodies were still curvy, without sharp angles or wedge shapes. Engines were still usually carried in the front.  Into this world came Marcello Gandini's design, aptly named after a vulgar Italian expression of astonishment, Countach! To say that it broke the mold is both cliche and an understatement: This is a car that obliterated the mold. Incredibly low, flat, and angular in the best of ways, it resembled most other manufacturers' concept vehicles-yet here it was, ready for production and available soon from one's imported car dealer, in 1974. In production 16 years, it looked as modern and fresh at the end of its run in 1990 as it had when it was introduced. The 25th Anniversary edition introduced in 1988, was admittedly, in Lamborghini's own view and intention, the ultimate Countach, named in honor of a quarter-century of the Lamborghini marque.   This Countach was restyled to the fullest extent possible without requiring re-homologation; cosmetically, ergonomically, and mechanically, the model was effectively born anew under the 25th Anniversary badge. To carry out this monumental development work, Lamborghini tasked none other than in-house talents Horacio Pagani and Sandro Munari. Pagani reformed the exterior front bumper, raking rear wing scoops, lights, rear bumper, and ground effects, while the interior benefitted from the integration of standard climate control, power windows and seats, improved bolstering, and a revised steering assembly. Munari implemented fine-tuned revisions to the suspension and maximized the tire dimensions front and back-a change that reportedly added sufficient grip to drop the car's 0-60 mph benchmark by half a second. Overall, Pagani and Munari turned the Countach into a far more drivable, road-going machine than previous editions.  Research indicates that this Countach 25th Anniversary, chassis KLA12078, was delivered new to Al Ajda Automotive, Saudi Arabia on 27 July 1990. Notably, this example further features the more powerful, carbureted iteration of the Lamborghini V-12 engine. By 2005, the car was in the possession of a Canadian owner; according to the Carfax on file, just 621 kilometers were reported at the time of purchase. Later, in 2014, this Lamborghini became a part of the Dare to Dream Collection, where it has remained since.   Finished from the factory in Rosso Siviglia paint over a Champagne leather interior with Rosso piping, the odometer now shows just 2,660 kilometers (~1,653 miles) on the odometer at the time of cataloguing. An invoice on file from 2014 indicates the car was cosmetically reconditioned around the time of the most recent purchase. Across the body, the paint was refinished for a consistent look and the interior leather was repaired as needed, resulting in a tidy presentation today. It is accompanied now by tools and manuals with pouch.   As motoring journalist Johnny Lieberman stated in an August 2022 Motor Trend article, The Countach is an attitude, a frame of mind, a monument to what could be and really what should be. This is certainly a conclusion that any true enthusiast will endorse. An undeniable icon of the Italian motor industry, the Lamborghini Countach cemented the brand as a true player against rival sports car manufacturers Ferrari and Maserati by virtue of its powerful 12-cylinder engine and bold, innovative design. Delivered new to Ingolstadt, Germany, Chassis 12740 was lovingly cared for by one owner from new up until 2017, before being acquired by its second owner. Brought stateside in March 2023 by The Cultivated Collector, this car joins us with recent servicing and needing nothing, it is truly an exceptional example of the breed sporting its beautifully rich original coat of Rosso Siviglia.

To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION at RM Sothebys' Monaco event, 10 - 11 May 2024.  â¬400,000 - â¬500,000 EUR   One of 610 examples of the 5000 QV produced Powered by a 5.2-litre V-12 for a return of 449 horsepower and 0-100 km/h time of 4.8 seconds Delivered new to Germany; taken to the United Kingdom in 1989 and retained by the same owner since Odometer reading of only 40,473 kilometres verified by accompanying MoT certificates dating to 1992 Finished in Rosso Siviglia over a Nero Leather interior    Unveiled by Lamborghini just over a decade into the production span of the Countach, the 5000 QV represented a much-improved mid-cycle refresh. The supercar's brutish V-12 was the focal point for change, building on the preceding 4.8-litre unit of the LP500 S and bringing displacement up to 5.2 litres, yielding a 449 horsepower output. The engine was revised with four valves per cylinder-hence its Quattrovalve or QV moniker-while European cars were fed by six Weber carburettors, relocated to the top of the mid-mounted engine for aided cooling albeit with restricted rearward visibility.   Cosmetically, the revised Countach remained largely unchanged, though later examples of the 5000 QV gained side skirts with vents to push air towards the rear brakes. Just 610 examples were made before the 5000 QV made way for the Countach 25th Anniversary Edition in 1988.   The 5000 QV offered here is a late-production example, characterised by its vented side skirts. The Countach was delivered new to Mannheim, Germany, as noted by its Lamborghini-issue Warranty Certificate dated 7 July 1988. Within the space of a year, the Countach was bound for the United Kingdom. A copy of a purchase invoice issued by William Loughram Limited (on file) declares the sale of the supercar to the consigning owner on 22 February 1989. The Lamborghini was registered for the road in the UK shortly afterwards, and it has been kept by the same owner since then.  The Lamborghini is accompanied by MoT certificates for most years since 1992, verifying the car's relatively low odometer reading of 40,473 kilometres. The documents show that the Countach has covered just short of 5,000 kilometres in 20 years. Also included within the history file are selected workshop invoices accrued during the ownership of the vendor, in addition to a Lamborghini Service and Warranty Book. It is claimed that upon consignment to auction, the Countach was serviced by the consignor's in-house mechanic and has covered less than 100 miles since. The Lamborghini is further accompanied by a spare wheel and tool roll.   An ideal contender for light recommissioning or to simply enjoy as it is, this attractively specified Countach will appeal to Lamborghini and 1980s supercar fans alike. Dramatic, attractive, and always in demand, a Countach is a requirement of any collection of modern sports cars.
