The very first retro-modern BMW Z8 roadster was launched back in early 2000. It has been more than two decades, and you can still find used BMW Z8 for sale in top-notch condition since it has become a collector's item. Today, BMW is regarded as one of the best anodyne designs on SUVs, coupes, and sedans. The same is the case with the BMW Z8 that feels like a modern interpretation of 1950s supercars.

An all-aluminum build with the bespoke aluminum framework and chassis car, BMW Z8 came with 4.9-liter E39 M5's S62 V-8 engine with 6-speed manual transmission. The output of 369 pound-feet torque and 395 hp was more than enough for this beast to achieve 0 to 62 miles per hour speed in only 4.7 seconds. However, back in the day, the top speed of 155 miles per hour was a little low as compared to other supercars.

The sumptuous interior of Z8 reflected the attention and care along with the lavish exterior. It was design-forward and clean with aluminum primary touchpoints, switches, and knobs. The USA BMW Z8 was directly sold through the BMW, and the 6-speed manual transmission was only offered in the USA. The BMW Z8 MSRP at that time was 128,000 US dollars, and in total, 5,703 units were manufactured.

BMW Z8's after production was ended in 2002 when the legendary Alpina Z8 took over. You can also find BMW Z8 Alpina for sale, which is very different from the earlier Z8 model. With the softened suspension, Alpina Z8 came with conventional 5-speed automatic transmission. The BMW Alpina has a price tag of $140,000 US because of the upgrades and automatic transmission.

It is fascinating to observe the evolution of the BMW Z8 in the market of car enthusiasts and collectors. With its forward-looking and clean design, BMW Z8 became an immediate hit in the market. It's one of the most beautiful cars in the history of automobiles and still looks pretty modern as well. Whether it's a Z8 convertible or hardtop, both of the variants have their own grace and reflect their own built-in desirability.

As mentioned, the BMW Z8 is one of the best collector-grade cars. It's almost not possible to find this car in bad condition. Most owners locked their BMW Z8s when the Z8 prices started to increase vertically. That's why almost all of the BMW Z8's for sale are in perfect condition with the promise of 50 years of spare parts supply from the company. For that matter, you just need to make sure that you can afford it and also its maintenance. It's also recommended not to ignore the pre-purchase inspection along with a specialist who has BMW Z8 knowledge.

  • BMW manufactured exactly 5,703 Z8's in total

  • The very first year of Z8's production was 2000

  • The last year of Z8's production was 2003

  • The BMW Z8 MSRP was 128,000 US dollars

  • It's known as one of the most beautiful cars of the 2000s

  • You should expect the values to climb further

You can find a BMW Z8 for sale for about $150,000 to $250,000 US, depending on its condition. Additionally, the Z8s celebrity editions can even cost over $300,000 US. Despite that, if you buy a BMW Z8, it will be a long-term investment.
