This very special track–focused McLaren P1 GTR was bought by its current owner, only after being invited by the factory, as this was an invitation-only extended to existing P1 owners! Delivered on 8th September 2015, this 1045 HP hypercar (when on push to pass power boost) was driven for 20 laps at Dunsfold Aerodrome, before going back to Woking for a final check over.
 
 
In October 2015 Chris Goodwin, Mclaren’s own test driver, took the car around Brands Hatch for several laps in a demo for the factory. It was then returned to the factory to be checked over and serviced.
 
 
The car was then handed over to its only owner on 1st December 2015 from McLaren’s dealership in Manchester UK. After which, the car remained with it’s owner, only occasionally used for static displays to assist local charities in fundraising. In June 2016, with McLaren in attendance, the car was used to raise £50k for charity, when visitors paid £1000 for the privilege of being taken 3 laps around Croft Circuit.
 
 
Other than these drives, and some static displays, the car has only covered 400 miles.
 
 
Supplied with two sets of wheel/tyres, displayed here with slicks, but an additional set of wheels with wets on will be come with the car.
 
 
On purchase, the car will be sent for full McLaren Service, and there is not only the option of converting to Road Legal use by Paul Lanzante, but there is a, recently announced, latest battery pack upgrade, that can be fitted to give even more HP, at extra charge.
 
 
With only 31 cars left in original, track-only, unconverted, this example is fast becoming even more rare in factory supplied condition and spec.
 
 
This 225 MPH 3.8 ltr mid-engined twin turbo with a high-performance electric hybrid system, produces 986 horsepower rising to 1045 with the revised engine mapping, F1 ERS style power boost system. With a 0-60 in just 2.4 seconds, the 3.2-inch wider track, the larger fixed hydraulically-actuated wing, and the larger front splitter and carbon fibre underside, help create 10% more downforce over its predecessor, to make it the, gloves off, most hard-core McLaren P1 ever made.
 
 
The GTR benefits from other improvements that were not included on the street car. The entire car has been lowered, but retains its front axle nose lift for loading and going over bumps you might encounter. 19-inch motorsport center locking wheels ensure quick and secure wheel changes with the onboard jacking system, borrowed from McLaren's 650S GT3 racer. Below the massive wing sits a bespoke titanium and Inconel alloy exhaust system. Per McLaren, the exhaust maximizes the visceral sound from the 3.8-liter V8 engine while reducing backpressure to increase performance.
 
 
This McLaren P1 GTR was ordered new for a U.S. owner to join his vehicle collection. As evident by the mileage on the odometer and the cosmetic condition of the entire car, the GTR was hardly used. The owner also spec'd the car with the factory track package, which includes the equipment required for a track day. Items include twin nitrogen bottles to power the two center-lock air guns, one nitrogen bottle to power the car's in-board lift system, Vlog equipment for video recording from the on-board cameras, a Bowser race fuel system for refueling, a computer tablet used to access the car's computer to view telemetry and codes, spare set of track tires, aluminum solid mounts to elevate the car without relying on nitrogen, torque wrench with a spare socket, and P1 GTR car cover. In as-new condition, this is an opportunity to buy a P1 GTR that is essentially fresh from the factory and ready for its next owner to track and/or convert for road use.
