For 2017, the Audi S4 for sale now packs a turbocharged 3.0L V6 TFSI engine as opposed to last year's supercharged rendition. Producing more power at 354 horsepower and 369 ft-lb of torque, the 2017 S4 climbs from 0-60 mph even faster. The 2017 model also brings an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission - up from seven - further increasing the efficiency and performance of the S4. Quattro all-wheel-drive equipped with S-tuned sport suspension remains, allowing up to seventy-percent of engine torque to be distributed to the front axle, or eighty-percent distributed to the rear at one time. Both the exterior and interior styling are sport-driven with the luxury to match.

The Audi drive select feature remains as well, allowing dynamic steering control, engine response and shift characteristic settings to be manipulated. The 8.3-inch touch screen infotainment system is now fitted with MMI navigation plus, allowing a higher level of functionality for the driver. Audi Connect features hotspot connectivity for LTEpowered internet speeds, while the Audi phone box links to passenger's smart phones and can charge them inductively. Well-organized features met with exceptional and dynamic performance makes the 2017 Audi S4 an incredibly desirable machine.

Since its first introduction in 1991, the Audi S4 has striven for excellence in high performance. Though it had a brief hiatus in production between 1994 and 1997, to this day it remains a stunning vehicle capable of being both a fun car for the weekend and a daily driver or grocery getter.

When dealerships first offered the S4, it was available in either a four-door, five-seat saloon model or a five-door, five-seat S4 Avant, essentially the equivalent of an estate car. For over a decade, those were the only body models available, during what is now recognized as the C4 and B5 generations of the model.

For the B6 and B7 generations, the cabriolet body style became an option, introducing to the market an S4 convertible. The B6 generation saw its launch in 2003, when it debuted as the Audi S4 quattro in saloon and Avant body styles. The two-door Cabriolet came around that next February, in 2004, and as with the other two body styles, it offered some impressive performance numbers at the time.

The B6 generation also saw an entirely new engine, which is what helped with those performance numbers. The S4's V8 was a 4.2-liter powerhouse mated to either a 6-speed Getrag manual or 6-speed triptronic automatic transmission. The Saloon with a manual transmission could accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 5.6 seconds, the Avant in 5.8 and the Cabriolet in 5.9.

The most recent generation began production in 2008, and is recognized as the B8 generation. For this generation, the United States and Canadian markets only received sedan imports, while the Avant body style is still available in other markets. The Cabriolet body style, unfortunately, was not continued in the latest generation.
