1962 Rolls-Royce Phantom V James Young Sedanca De Ville One of 8  Chassis 5BX44 is one of only 8 Phantom V James Young Sedanca de Villes ever produced and comes adorned with ornate exterior canework as well as tasteful bespoke interior accessories. With its stunning, rare coachwork and Sedanca sliding roof, it was featured in Lawrence Daltons Rolls-Royce: The Classic Elegance.  James Young's design cues included their signature sculpted door handles and fitted body spears that followed the car's lines dovetailing from the front fender to the rear quarters. The coachbuilder was acquired by the reputable Rolls-Royce and Bentley London dealer, Jack Barclay, Ltd., but continued as before, to produce their distinctive car bodies for another thirty years, until the bespoke car coachbuilding era concluded. Delivered new to venerable London Rolls-Royce agents Jack Barclay, this Sedanca was so visually stunning, the agent used it as a demonstrator model, until it was sold to first private owner, Jack Taubman. Presented in a distinctive two-tone livery, black, crested in rich burgundy, enhanced alongside with elaborate rare canework, a glance into the interior does not disappoint. Unique and tasteful bespoke interior fittings, rare period-correct and charming roller shades serve as sun visors for both front and rear passengers. The spacious rear passenger compartment has been refreshed in an elegant and understated parchment off-white leather with dark red welting. Other delights include distinctive twin picnic trays and a magnificent liquor cabinet "companion" complete with crystal decanters and drinks tumblers, all fitted into the division window cabinetry. A rare and desirable Smiths Eight Day, seven-jeweled lever clock is conveniently placed in the center of the division window. An opera seat unfolds in the enormous footwell, offering additional passengers occasional seating.  All Phantom V models were built to order, therefore no two are exactly alike but they all share the same fine craftsmanship, attention to detail, and luxurious appointments providing the ultimate in passenger amenities. Possibly the Lowest Mileage 1976 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI Left-Hand Drive Limousine in Existence with just 19k Believed to be Original Miles: Coachwork by Mulliner Park WardThis 1976 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI Limousine with Coachwork by HJ Mulliner is a factory Left-Hand Drive model with just 19k original miles. Quite possibly the Lowest Mileage 1976 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI Left-Hand Drive Limousine in Existence. Chassis PRX 4867 is an extremely honest and original example. The interior shows only modest wear and the car generally has a feeling of originality to it. The surrounding interior of beige leather in the front and brown velour fabric in the back do also appear to be original finishes. Aesthetically, the car presents cleanly, its interior is still in good shape and the characteristic features such as the wood veneers generally present well. From its paint plate, it would appear to have been delivered new in a solid Willow Gold, but now wears a slightly darker but nevertheless appealing shade of red/brown, close to the factory offered Chestnut and complementing the interior. Unused in the last decade or so, with a new battery and some brief checking over the car was made to run and drive, although we feel a thorough check over would be more advisable prior to active use.Chassis no. 1964 Rolls-Royce Phantom V Limousine Left-Hand Drive with Coachwork by James YoungThis Left-Hand Drive 1964 Phantom V James Young Limousine by James Young wears an older restoration and an attractive driver. Burgundy with tan leather interior. It runs and drives but servicing is recommended prior to use. According to factory records, the Rolls-Royce was ordered in New York City by Benjamin M. Reeves, founder of the B.M. Reeves Company, Inc., a food importer and packer. Mr. Reeves, who had founded his eponymous company in 1924 and would sell his interest in the company to focus on philanthropy less than a year after taking delivery of this car, no doubt sought the ultimate conveyance to get around NYC when he purchased this car. Originally ordered in understated Black over tan hides up front and fawn leather in the rear, the car was well outfitted electric windows, Sundym glass, picnic tables in the rear along with a cocktail cabinet complete with a pair of decanters and four glasses (plus an extra four glasses in one rear door and an ice flask in the other), a vanity mirror, notebook, and pencil in the rear center armrest, and plenty more. Delivered to Mr. Reeves in London in August of 1964, the Rolls would soon make its way across the Atlantic to his residence at the tony Hampshire House at 150 Central Park South. It is not recorded for how long Mr. Reeves kept his Phantom V, but by the dawn of the new millennium the car had found its way to the Lone Star state in the collection of Beaumont, Texas based collector Dan Mouton. A Rolls enthusiast, Mouton would enjoy this PV for over a decade before the car eventually found its way into the collection of the previous owner about a decade ago. Chassis 5LBV41 is confirmed as being of formal design by Park Ward Ltd and carrying features such as a center console to the rear division as well as full occasional seats for two. Older burgundy repaint with beige interior. It wears an older restoration. A straight and honest example that's ready for straightforward recommissioning. Well worth the effort to bring back to glory. A car with a lot of potential.  The interior has the appearance of being original but reflects its age with some creasing and cracking. The rear interior wood is in poor condition as well. It runs and drives but a recommissioning will be necessary prior to road use. 1961 Phantom V James Young PV55 Two door Touring SaloonThe first of only two ever built#5LBV69  An especially elegant creation first supplied to a Mr. Frank J. Gill of Millbrook, New York on July 9, 1961, this work of art has enjoyed the stewardship of several noted automobile connoisseurs of the era including Mr. William Payson of Southport, Connecticut (1970) Sam Scheer of New York and Palm Beach, Florida (1972), Dr. Erle Heath of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Miami, Florida (1973) and Ray Lutgert of Naples, Florida, (1976). In the late 1980s it was supplied to the noted Mr. B. Laleman of Gent, Belgium and remained with him until late 2006 when it was supplied by the noted Swiss dealer Lukas Huni to the Blackhawk Collection of California for an important collector client.  The extensive 26 years of service files accompany the automobile. It was acquired by ourselves in 2019 in acceptable order but cosmetically somewhat weathered. It has since been upgraded and the mechanical aspects thoroughly prepared to our standards. This remarkable performer is available for inspection and demonstration at your convenience.

Rather than this being a case of one size fits all with regards to the styling, for its new flagship Rolls-Royce still offered customers the opportunity to purchase a bare chassis-one which housed an alloy 6,230-cc V-8 engine-that could then be dressed in custom bodywork by an array of coachbuilders. Most notable were Hooper, H.J. Mulliner, Chapron, Park Ward, and James Young of Bromley, Kent. The latter's design, numbered PV15, was still very much a traditional limousine body that was drawn to accommodate a generous cabin, albeit one modernised by styling cues such as a more flowing turtle deck rear. rnrnA copy of the factory data card shows that this example, chassis 5VF157, was originally delivered on 29 December 1967 to long-established Scottish dealership Macrae & Dick. Believed to be the 502nd of the 516 total Phantom Vs built, this Touring Limousine by James Young was finished when new in two-tone Black over Garnet to accompany Beige leather upholstery. The car was further specified with air-conditioning, hydraulically operated rear seats, silk curtains, radios for both passenger compartments, plus a glassware set. rnrnRegistered on New Year's Day of 1968, little is known about the initial ownership history of this Phantom V. However, the car found a long-term custodian between 1978 and November 1999. It was subsequently acquired by Mr Peter Nightingale of Royston, Hertfordshire.rnrnPurchased by The Dean Kronsbein Collection in May 2014, this car has in recent years been attended to by renowned classic Bentley and Rolls-Royce specialist P&A Wood of Dunmow, Essex.
