What was done by the original build. And then taking it to the most modern technology......
One of a kind nut and bolt restoration/custom build This truck started life as a 1997 Land Rover defender 90 SW. It was all white. and was originally purchased by Billy Joel aka “the Piano Man”. Current owner purchased it in December 2002 with less than 3850 original miles on it. He parked it indoors at his heated Manhattan garage. In 2009 he had a top to bottom complete restoration and customization of the vehicle done. No expense was spared to create this amazing vehicle. Restoration was completed January of 2010. It has had less than 1500 miles put on it since the restoration was completed. The vehicle has been stored inside a climate controlled storage keeping the restoration looking fresh. About the rebuild and restoration. the vehicle was carefully taken apart and taken all the way down to the frame. and then treated to a galvanized frame and cross-member. At the same time they galvanized the bed capings. the bulkhead. hood frame. and many other small parts. To ensure rust wouldn’t return they treated the inside of the bulkhead and the frame to waxoyl treatment this adds decades to the life of the truck. The body was then stripped and painted as separate pieces. and then carefully re assembled on the chassis. The interior was treated to linex in separate pieces then assembled. All new front doors. rear door and a new hood in the body refurbishment. The outside was painted with high grade PPG paint. The interior and exterior roll cage was repowdercoated to new condition. The rear NAS bumper was powder coated as well. The inside was treated to Dynamat throughout. The complete drive train was rebuilt. with much custom and extensive detail done to the engine. The engine is a complete rebuild. with new bearings. and full gasket kit. For the engine we put on new ancillaries. along with a new radiator to keep this motor running nice and cool. Added an electric fan.
