This is a 1991 LHD Land Rover Defender 110 Station Wagon, built at the Land Rover facility in Solihull, England. This unit spent all its life in sunny Barcelona, Spain.
In late 2021, it was acquired by Defender&Friends as a clean, rust-free white Defender 110 with cloth interior.

After six months of complete FRAME OFF restoration, including ultra-luxurious upgrades, but still respecting the legacy of the Defender, The Alicante Edition is ready to be shipped to your home.
Its power comes from a 2.5L inline-four 200Tdi turbodiesel engine paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The truck is being sold with a clean North Carolina title in hand under the seller’s name.
The GPS Speedhut speedometer shows just over 880 miles, our test drive period once we finish the restoration is between 800 to 1.000 miles. 
Everything from mechanicals to electrics to suspension to interior has been either rebuilt, remanufacture or brand new, so the truck is better than new in most respects.

The LT 230 transfer box have a fixed set of new parts including a new taper roller bearings, the centre diff is checked and changed if necessary then shimmed up. Once the new parts are picked the first step in the build process is to lay the parts out on the bench for inspection, the gears are closely inspected paying particular attention to the condition of the centre diff and the wear pattern on the gear teeth.
When we rebuild a LT77 Gearbox, the unit is stripped down, washed in both Safety clean and hot wash tanks then the casings are shot blasted with glass bead, then painted. Once "Prepped" the stripped unit is sent to the build area in a plastic tub.
The boxes have a fixed set of new parts including bearings, baulk rings, gaskets and seals, approx 95% have a new mainshaft due to the spline wear they suffer from. Once the parts are picked the first step in the build process is to lay the parts out on the bench for inspection, the gears and shafts are closely inspected paying particular attention to the condition of the dogteeth and the wear pattern on the gear teeth.
Once built, the units are stamped with a number and a spec sheet filled out giving us info on the unit specification, who built it, when it was built and exactly what parts were fitted.

*1991 Land Rover Defender 110 Arkonik Compass Edition*In 1984, Land Rover debuted their all new Defender- a truck that was capable of being used on the countless farms and estates around Europe, but was better equipped than the outgoing Series trucks for use in town as well. Quickly, the Defender became a popular model for the brand and was adopted by both farmers and those in the city- largely owing to its rugged looks and dependable line of engine options. Although better equipped than previous Land Rovers, they were by no means luxury vehicles and numerous companies have appeared since their debut to customize and enhance these trucks with all the modern conveniences we have come to expect. Perhaps the most well known of these companies is Arkonik- based in England, their builds were so popular that in the past few years, they have set up shop in the United States to service the Stateside Defender owner looking to make a truck their own.This 1991 Land Rover Defender 110 has been thoroughly customized by Arkonik who have left no stone unturned in the building of what could be considered the ultimate Defender specification. Finished in beautiful Corris Gray, Arkonik set to work making the exterior much more aggressive with the addition of black over fenders and black diamond plate on the sills and top of the front fenders. A large front bullbar gives the sturdy Warn winch a place to rest and brush guards over the headlights look purposeful and menacing. A full roof length Front Runner roof rack offers tons of storage and tie down options and an integrated ladder is attached at the rear. Beautiful 18 black Kahn Design 1948 wheels sit at all four corners-with a swing away spare on the rear- and all of the wheels are wrapped in knobby BFGoodrich K02 tires.Most Defenders were optioned with small displacement turbo diesel four cylinder engines- adequate for the narrow country lanes in the UK but hardly enough to keep up with todays traffic in the US. That is why, this Defender has been the recipient of an LS3 V8 swap- putting out 430 horsepower, this Defender has plenty of power to pass on the highway and can accelerate with remarkable speed. Corresponding upgrades such as an aluminum radiator with electric cooling fans has been added and a modern GM 6L80 6-speed automatic gearbox backs up the engine with power going to all four wheels. To slow the truck down, a set of Tarox 6-Piston disc brakes have been installed both front and rear with slotted rotors and a Wilwood master cylinder.On the interior is where Arkonik really made their name. Utilizing high quality leather and numerous modern amenities, these trucks feel as upscale as they look and provide a great place for you and your family to spend time. The interior of this truck is finished in Wet Sand trim- a rich tan leather by Ruskin Design, all of the seats, center console and door cards are covered in the material which has been expertly stitched and looks better than anything coming out of Land Rover at the time. A black Alcantara headliner has been installed as well as high end black carpet throughout the truck. The front seats are heated while the rear seats have been upgraded with a high back design and reclining abilities, all the way in the back, the signature Land Rover dual folding bench seats allow up to 9 people to ride in the vehicle at a time. A Pioneer head unit with Apple CarPlay and a backup camera have both been installed and a wood rimmed 3-spoke steering wheel sits in front of the driver and gives the insides a bit of the classic English car feel.The build on this truck was completed in 2019 and since then, the truck has been driven just 4,989 miles meaning that it is nearly new as far as condition is concerned, but used enough that any of the potential issues have been sorted. *1991 Land Rover Defender Arkonik*Debuting in 1983 as the successor to the Willys Jeep based Series Land Rovers, the Defender had big shoes to fill as the new design needed to be just as capable as the old model off-road while improving drivability on the road. With the introduction of items such as coil springs, an updated interior, progressively more powerful engines and in 1984, roll up windows, the Defender became the automatic choice for outdoor adventurers and English farmers alike. As time progressed, Land Rover continued to update the Defender with more modern interior features and new engines- the most popular being the 200TDi introduced in 1989.This 1991 Land Rover Defender 110 is a beautiful example finished in an eye-catching shade of Flat Gray with a White roof and a custom black and tan leather interior with seating for 9 inside. Under the hood, this Defender 110 features the 2.5 liter, turbo-diesel Inline-4 200TDi engine which produces enough torque to pull stumps on your farm and enough power to cruise effortlessly on the highway- all while providing remarkable fuel economy for a vehicle of this size. The engine is run through a five-speed manual gearbox with a two-speed transfer case and locking center differential for ultimate off road control. In addition to everything that comes on a standard Defender 110, this car has been modified by UK Defender specialists Arkonik with a host of welcome upgrades.One of the signature features of Arknonik are their body kit and wheel packages. On this example, a stunning set of gloss black painted fender extensions are paired with a purposeful looking front bumper mounted brush bar and black painted diamond plating on the fender tops and along the bottom of the body. Black painted side steps and a Front Runner roof rack with rear ladder add practicality to the rig and a fantastic look.
