The team had triumphed at the previous yearâs race, securing an overall win and emphatic 1-2 finish for Jaguar. The impressive result in 1990âwith the XJR-12 driven by John Nielsen, Price Cobb, and Martin Brundle finishing four laps ahead of the sister car piloted by Jan Lammers, Andy Wallace, and Franz Konradâpropelled the team into 1991 full of confidence, aiming for a third overall win in four years, having also masterminded victory with the XJR-9 in 1988.The team fielded three Silk Cut-liveried XJR-12s for 1991, backed by an impressive driver rosterâboasting both former and future Le Mans winners in its ranks. Two of those cars were brand new chassis built especially for that yearâs 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the third an adapted version of the XJR-12 chassis that raced in 1990 but retired after 220 laps due to a water pump failure. The driver grouping that was entered in this carâchassis 891, which wore race number â33â at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1991âwas arguably the strongest combination. Having already won two rounds of that yearâs World Sportscar Championship, Derek Warwick was backed by Walkinshaw for a tilt at the title, so was joined by two previous winners of the race, in Nielsen and Wallace.Chassis 891 was completed in the spring of 1991 as a new build for that yearâs race. The 1991 XJR-12 represented a marked progression from the same model that earned Jaguar its win the previous year. While they shared a V-12 engine, the newer carâs capacity was increased to 7.4-litres, while the nose cone was lengthened with a redesigned central front air intake, and its brakes enhanced to improve stopping power. Starting from 24th on the grid, Warwick took the first stint behind the wheel and worked his way up to 9th before the first driver change. The Jaguar fluctuated between 9th and 4th position throughout the 24 hours of the race; chassis 891 looked set to finish 5th, having occupied the place for the final four hours, but Nielsen found the energy to overtake a C11 of Team Sauber Mercedes to finish 4th overall. Mazdaspeedâs 787B enjoyed a late surge to win outright, followed by the XJR-12 of Davy Jones, Raul Boesel, and Michel Ferte in 2nd, its Silk Cut sister car of Teo Fabi, Bob Wollek, Kenny Acheson in 3rd, and this car, which finished six laps and 81 kilometres down on the winnerâs total, with an average speed of 202.070 km/h.The year after its Le Mans debut, the XJR-12 was entered by Jaguar Racingâupdated with the livery of its new sponsor, Bud Lightâin the 1992 24 Hours of Daytona. Noted on its entry form as an XJR-12 D, a driver combination of Jones, David Brabham, Scott Pruett, and Scott Goodyear finished 2nd overall to a Nissan R91CP, while the Jaguar took 1st place in its GTP class. One month later, in March 1992, chassis 891 was campaigned in the 12 Hours of Sebring. Jones and Brabham completed 338 laps to finish 4th overall.Understood to have been retained by Tom Walkinshaw Racing after its last race, the Jaguar was acquired by its consignor in 2017. The consigning owner has enjoyed the XJR-12 in historic events, notably setting the fastest lap and combined qualifying time in the Group C category at the 2018 Le Mans Classic. Benefitting from a newly completed engine rebuild and a replacement fuel cell, the Jaguar is offered with entry to the Group C race at this yearâs Le Mans Classic provided by the consigning owner. Not just for its lithe and otherworldly streamlined shape, but for a spec sheet that promised no fewer than 12 cylinders, 6.2 litres, and four-wheel drive. Enthusiasm inevitably cooled when the road car was finally revealed, having lost half its cylinders, almost half its capacity, and two driven wheels to the production process. But despite rationalisation of the ambitious design, performance surpassed all expectations: the supercar could reach 100 km/h in less than four seconds, with a top speed of 343 km/h. The XJ220 becameâfor a moment, at leastâthe fastest production car on earth. Its creatorsâJaguar and Tom Walkinshaw Racingâsaw in the XJ220 the potential for competition success. Off the back of a winning partnership that had produced no fewer than two outright victories at Le Mans, the XJ220 was duly prepared to take on Porsche Carrera RSRs and Venturi 500 LMs in the GT categoryâwhich would become the ever-popular GT1 classâfor 1993. Three examples of the newly dubbed XJ220 C were created for Le Mans (a fourth chassis was built later), a bespoke Works car unlike cars that ran in domestic GT series.The race-prepared machines differed considerably from their roadgoing counterparts, being some 400 kilograms lighter. Each was fitted with a fully detachable composite nose, tail, and body panels, which could quickly be removed for access to the carâs mechanical systems. The interior was a stripped-out affair that made extensive use of carbon fibre and was furnished only with a Kevlar racing seat, while the twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V-6 was uprated to reportedly produce as much as 850 horsepower, although restricted under ACO regulations. Each car was prepared to FIA/IMSA Le Mans specification, enabling the model to be campaigned on both sides of the Atlantic. While a comfortable GT victory marked the modelâs race debut at Silverstone on 9 May 1993, its greatest challenge would come at the Circuit de la Sarthe where, after qualifying strongly, a team of three XJ220 Cs took to the grid. Chassis 002âthe example offered hereâwould be driven by David Brabham, John Nielsen, and future Formula 1 ace David Coulthard, contesting his firstâand onlyâLe Mans race. But long before the starter flag dropped, drama began to unfold. While testing, ACO officials raised concerns about the legality of the XJ220 Câs exhaust, which was a free-flowing arrangement with no catalytic convertersâunlike that of the road car. Though correct for the IMSA category regulations the XJ220Cs were entered under, and despite no rival machines in the GT category running catalytic converters, the argument rumbled on before the Jaguars were reluctantly allowed to take the start under appeal.TWRâs challenge began to falter almost immediately, as the sister car of Win Percy, Armin Hahne and David Leslie suffered catastrophic head gasket failure after just six laps. The British teamâs fortunes soon turned though, as Hans-Joachim Stuckâs leading and Works-entered Porsche 911 Turbo S LM suffered an early throttle problem, tumbling down the standings while it was repaired. In an effort to get back into contention, Walter RÃ¶hrl pushed too hard, striking a back marker and forcing his own retirement. The Jaguars duly assumed the class lead until the early hours of the morning, when a fuel leak in chassis 002 forced Brabham into the pits for running repairs. Andreas Fuchs continued the charge in chassis 003 until lap 176, when a tyre blow-out threw his car into a gravel trap, enabling Brabham to dramatically work back through the field to cross the finish line in 15th overall and 1st in class. Sadly, the celebrations would prove short lived. A month after their famous victory, the three Jaguars were disqualified on a second technicality: their appeal, which the FIA had supported and upheld, had apparently not been lodged in time. Following its historic outing at Le Mans, chassis 002 returned to Tom Walkinshaw Racing before being sold to Brunei. It returned to the United Kingdom in 1999, remaining in a significant private collection before being acquired by the consigning owner in early-2018. The Jaguar has notably participated in numerous demonstration events, including the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2000 and 2011. According to the consigning owner, as the road-going XJ220 S was closely derived from ex-race cars, and a number of McLaren F1 GTRs, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz GT1 cars are now road convertedâpotential road registration in select countries might be possible without too many major modifications. Extremely rare color - Silverstone Green    of 281 produced by Jaguar from 1992 to 1994 Includes owner's handbook, tool kit, first aid kit, parts and service manuals   During the 1980's and early 90's, car manufacturers were exploring new concepts, pushing the technology of their cars into a new era, with the goal of producing the fastest and most powerful car they could create. The era of the supercar was born, and Jaguar wanted to lead the way, just as it had done with its C-Type three decades earlier. In the 1980's, Jaguar's chief engineer, Jim Randle, as part of an informal group called "The Saturday Club", began work on a concept car, code-named XJ220, which if put into production, could compete in a potential new Group B racing category competing against the likes of Ferrari's F40 and the Porsche 959.  While seemingly the obvious choice, the Jaguar 6.2-litre V12 had been judged too difficult to get past emissions regulations, so in its place was chosen a Tom Walkinshaw developed 3.5 litre V6 as used in the Group C XJR-10/11 prototype racecars, fitted with twin Garrett T3 turbochargers, generating 542 horsepower and 476 lbÂ·ft of torque. The engine was the first V6 in Jaguar's history, a derivation from the Cosworth DFV Formula 1 engine, originally designed by David Wood for the Austin Metro 6R4 rally car. It was also the first Jaguar engine to use forced induction. In spite of the smaller displacement, it produced more power than the V12, and offered improved handling by being set lower and more centrally in the car.  Constructed on October 26th 1993, this XJ220 is number 223 of an approximately 281 handmade cars. It was ordered and delivered to JaguarSport Limited in Oxon, England. Hartmut FlÃ¶ter was a distributor for Kawasaki Motorcycles in Sweden. His successful business had allowed him to collect several iconic Kawasaki bikes and other fast machines. The XJ220 seemed like the perfect addition to his collection based on the top speed, and design of this unique automobile. After ordering his XJ220, the Jaguar was delivered on December 16, 1993 to the dealership then dispatched to the customer on January 27, 1994 and brought to Switzerland on December 23, 1996. On September 14th, 1998, Mr. FlÃ¶ter obtained a permit from the Swiss department of transportation that allowed him to test drive to obtain registration.  The XJ220 was displayed and not driven for the following 17 years. On October 29, 2015, Mr. FlÃ¶ter sold the car to Mr. Zurich, who would also not drive or register the XJ220 during his ownership. In 2016, the Jaguar was sold to a collector in Germany, who was not able to ship the car due to customs regulations in their home country. 6 years later, the car was still located at the Lutziger Classic Cars facility until purchased and imported by Bruce Canepa in December of 2021.  "A stunning example! Absolutely new condition! Beyond Words!" said Bruce Canepa after the XJ220 arrived at the facility and was inspected.  A reflection of this car's stunning as-new condition, the XJ220 only required a gentle cleaning.  The XJ220 was the first road car to exploit under-body airflow and venturi technology to generate a downforce of around 3000 lb for high-speed stability. It utilized a Group C suspension configuration, leading to handling described by Autocar as, "the finest handling supercar we have ever driven. Such is its damping that supercars we previously considered superlatively well-controlled over difficult roads now seem flawed and spongy after the Jaguar." This expertly cared for XJ220 would make a superb complement to any collection of Jaguars or Modern Supercars. 

Very rare all black manual shift. The last and only one that came in 1994. 1995 on were all automatics. One owner. Always garaged. Excellent shape.
