1967 Jaguar XKE Series I 4.2 Roadster â Restored, Matching-Numbers Engine, Stunning Dark Blue over Red Â  Originally produced on May 12, 1966, and delivered through Jaguar Cars of New York, this 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I Roadster presents a striking combination of classic British design and comprehensive refurbishment. In 2020, the car underwent a full restoration that included an overhaul of its numbers-matching 4.2-liter inline-six and triple SU carburetors, along with the four-speed manual gearbox, suspension, and braking system. Originally finished in Pale Primrose Yellow, the body was stripped to bare metal and refinished in a deep metallic dark blue using Standox paint. The chrome trim, bumpers, and brightwork were refreshed, and a replacement blue soft top was installed. Other exterior details include the signature enclosed headlights, a louvered clamshell hood, triple windshield wipers, and chrome 15" wire-spoke wheels secured by two-eared knockoffs. Â  The mechanical restoration included new Mahle pistons, an aluminum radiator, a replacement ignition coil, and reconditioned bearings, gaskets, and valves. The suspension was overhauled with GAZ shocks and powder-coated components, while the braking system received a rebuilt booster, fresh brake lines, and new pads. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through the four-speed manual transmission, which was fitted with replacement seals and bearings in 2020. The undercarriage was treated with a Wurth anti-corrosion coating for added protection. Â  Inside, the originally black-trimmed interior has been reupholstered in rich red leather, covering the bucket seats, door panels, and carpets. A black vinyl-trimmed dashboard houses a Blaupunkt AM/FM push-button radio, heater, and Smiths instrumentation, including a 260-km/h speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer. The gauges were disassembled, cleaned, and refinished with new faces during the restoration. A battery disconnect switch has been discreetly installed beneath the dashboard. Â  Accompanying this Jaguar is a Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate confirming its original specifications, a knock-off tool kit, a color-matched custom luggage set lined in plaid cloth, and a comprehensive binder documenting the refurbishment process. Showing just 440 miles since restoration, this stunning E-Type is now offered in New Jersey with a clean Montana title in the name of the owner's LLC.

Offered here is a 1967 Series 1 Jaguar XKE Roadster with 33,844 original miles. Finished in its original color of Willow Green, this is a fantastic example. This car comes with amazing documentation including, the original window sticker and original bill of sale, a certificate of authenticity, 30 + years of service records and restoration records, original service booklet with dealer stamps and original factory warranty document. This is a two-owner car, last owner bought it from the original owner in 1969. This example spent its entire life in Oregon and California and is one of the best driving E types we have ever had. This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series I Roadster that was completed on January 11, 1967 and delivered new to Toronto, Ontario via Jaguar Cars of Eastern Canada. A multi-year refurbishment was carried out from 2006 through the early 2010s that included replacement of the floor pans, a repaint in dark green, overhauls of the brakes and suspension, and a rebuild of the 4.2-liter inline-six. Equipment includes a four-speed manual transmission, a black soft top, black leather upholstery, glass headlight covers, four-wheel disc brakes, a Panasonic AM/FM stereo, wood-rimmed steering wheel, and chrome knock-off wire wheels. The car was featured in the book, E-Type 50: Fifty Years of a Design Icon. Included are the receipts beginning in 2006, a Production Record Trace Certificate, tool kit, jack, owner’s manual, and a clean Arizona title.

Exterior:
Finished from the factory in Opalescent Dark Green, the car was repainted its current shade of dark green during the refurbishment and recently clear ceramic coated in December 2024. Exterior features include a louvered hood, a black soft top and boot cover, and glass headlight covers. Chrome 15” knock-off wire wheels are mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. A full-size spare is found in the trunk. The four-wheel disc brakes feature inboard-mounted rears and were overhauled during the refurbishment. The steering rack and suspension components were also replaced at that time, while the left parking brake caliper was repaired in May 2022.

Interior:
The cabin houses seats trimmed in black leather with a matching dashboard and door panels. Replacement black carpets line the floors, and amenities include a Panasonic AM/FM radio, a height-adjustable rear-view mirror, lap belts, and a padded central arm rest. The seat height has been lowered by approximately 3/4”.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of refurbished Smiths instrumentation that includes a rebuilt 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and a suite of auxiliary gauges in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 26k miles, around 400 miles of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

Engine:
The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with triple SU carburetors and Pertronix electronic ignition. The engine was rebuilt during the refurbishment, and parts receipts provided in the gallery indicate the installation of .030″ over pistons with 9:1 compression. Work performed in May 2022 by The Jag Shop of Portland, Oregon included replacement of the tachometer generator and valve cover gaskets. Both exhaust manifolds have been ceramic coated (black). Engine block stamping 7E11911-9 matches the number shown on the chassis plate and Production Record Trace certificate.

Transmission:
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission that was fitted with a replacement clutch and resurfaced flywheel during the engine rebuild. The floor pans were replaced by Andre’s Foreign Car Service and Restoration of Salt Lake City, Utah. 

This XKE is beautifully restored, runs strong and rides on rails. One of the finest examples you will find. Inspections and test drives encouraged.
