This vehicle is being sold at the Monterey 2023 as Lot No. F112. Purpose-built in conformance with the strict technical requirements for the Daytona 200 of 1967- One of only two that remain in existence today, the other is in the Honda Collection Hall in Motegi, Japan- Brought to the USA under the management of then Honda America employee Bob Hansen- Team Hansen assembled the race team including racers Jim Odom, Swede Savage and Larry Schaffer- This Honda 450 Daytona racer frame was raced by Jim Odom at the 1967 Daytona 200- Odom was awarded a trophy for the fastest lap ever recorded by a motorcycle (134 MPH) by Daytona race officials on March 18, 1967- Copy of Aaron Frank's book "Honda" that documents this accolade will be included in the sale- Documentation of ownership included- Handwritten notes from Bob Hansen as well as typed notes and records from the Daytona 67 testing are included- Several books that feature this Honda included
