With a reputation for creating the pinnacle of bespoke performance sports cars, RUF can sometimes afford the luxury of creating one-off coach-built vehicles for close family friends and special clientele.
 
 
The one-of-one RUF RT Roadster was the result of a unique idea presented by such a client to produce a true B-pillar Targa that hadn’t been available from Porsche from the 993 until the 991. This meant engineering a new body based on a 2011 997.2 chassis to create a Targa that would seamlessly combine nostalgia with the exhilarating driving feel RUF is so well known for. The team wanted to pay homage to the very first Targas produced which were famous for their ability to fully remove the rear window to provide a ‘soft window’ Targa experience.
 
 
The RT Roadster reimagines the iconic rear quarter panel openings that feed the intercoolers, breathing cold air into the twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six that produces 650 horsepower delivered to all four wheels through a PDK transmission. Underneath rests a special RUF-tuned suspension and carbon ceramic brakes on all four corners.
 
 
Finished in a truly bespoke Chromaflair satin paint, the lines of this RT Roadster flow as the paint transitions through its various layers of flake and its undertones are exposed. The interior is finished in contrasting red leather with silver stitching, extended carbon fiber accents, and painted Chromaflair satin interior trim, showcasing RUF’s meticulous attention to detail. Factory options include phone connectivity, foldable carbon bucket seats, color-matching hard top panels, matching red leather luggage belts on the rear parcel shelf, and center lock wheels.
 
 
The RT Roadster was unveiled at Rennsport VI in 2018 and subsequently featured in a MotorTrend article. It has been privately enjoyed by its original owner since then before being offered for sale to the general public.

Body – All panels are original and matching on this RUF. The vehicle has never been involved in any road incident, and no corrosion is noted on or under the car. The front bumper, side skirts, and air intakes are free of rock chips or scratches.

Paint – This RUF RT Roadster rolled off the production line in stunning Chromaflash hologram matte over Red leather interior. With its amplified connection to the outside world, RUF-exclusive body design, and powerful twin-turbo flat-six engine, the significance of this one-off coach build is beyond anything words can convey. It serves as the perfect addition to any Porsche enthusiast’s stable and a welcome candidate in any PCA chapter or show.

This factory 1994 RUF RCT is finished in Pine Green metallic exterior paint over a Cohibabrown Leather interior. In 2020, this RCT returned to RUF for a complete restoration and extensive upgrades. Special features added include RWD, ceramic brakes, and changing the 5-Speed transmission to a 6-Speed. The original steel body was also changed to a fully carbon fiber skin with an integrated roll cage. Now showing 1,341 miles, this exceptional example is offered for sale. While it utilized the chassis of the then-new 997 generation, it essentially constituted an entirely distinct vehicle.The primary differentiating factor lies beneath the hood - a 3.8-liter flat-six engine with dual turbocharging, tooted in the earlier M96 design scheme. This engine operates in conjunction with a RUF 6-speed manual transmission, effectively channeling an overwhelming amount of torque to the rear differential equipped with enhanced friction, which subsequently distributes power to its broad (12.5-inch) tires. Noteworthy attributes also encompass an adjustable hydraulic suspension accompanied by a front axle lifting system, a carbon fiber trunk lid, and three-component OZ Superleggera wheels. Internally, RUF experts opted for a cacao-brown leather upholstery complemented by Recaro sports seats.A brief historical account reveals that this automobile was initially adorned in GT Silver and delivered anew to Miami, Florida in February 2007 as a standard Rt12 for RUF Automobile of America. Before its dispatch, it underwent scrutiny at the hands of EVO magazine on the North Loop of the NÃ¼rburgring, bearing the registration number RUF MN100-B.In July 2009, having traversed 11,500 miles, the vehicle returned to the RUF facility on Pfaffenhausen to undergo an upgrade to the Rt12 S version. Besides its amplified power output of 694 horsepower, the couple also received a novel Aero package encompassing a carbon fiber spoiler and an enhanced rear bumper.With its elevated status as an Rt12 S, the vehicle made its way back to the United States in 2011, prepared to substantiate its status as one of the swiftest automobiles worldwide. Following a year and an additional 10,000 miles, the owner decided to entrust it to Lamborghini Palm Beach in September 2012. Subsequently, in December 2015, the vehicle found a new owner in Ed Bolian, the founder of VINwiki.From Bolian, it transitioned to Huber Motor Cars in Virginia. In December 2018, RUF specialist Charlie Lacey from Carrollton, Texas, meticulously restored it to a pristine condition reminiscent of its initial state. The restoration undertaking encompassed a comprehensive reconstruction of the engine, water pump, clutch, rear main seal, brake lines, and the refurbishment of all four brake calipers. Additionally, all belts, seals, and gaskets within the engine and hydraulic suspension system were diligently replaced. The wheels underwent a similar process of restoration and were subsequently fitted with a fresh set of Michelin Pilot Sport tires. To further enhance the opulence of the carbon fiber Recaro seats, they were adorned with a captivating pair of RUF peptic inserts. These restoration endeavors reached their completion in 2019.This particular RUF Rt12 S stands as one of the few units ever manufactured and is widely regarded as the sole existing exemplar within the US market.
