The 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe Black Series represents the most aggressive and track-focused iteration of the W204 platform, engineered by AMG to deliver uncompromised performance. Built in limited numbers—only 800 units worldwide &#40;with approximately 350 for the U.S. market&#41;—the Black Series combined a widened, stripped-down C-Class coupe with motorsport-inspired upgrades and raw V8 power.
 
 
This example is finished in menacing Obsidian Black Metallic over a black leather and Alcantara interior, and features the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter M156 V8, hand-built by AMG. In Black Series specification, the engine was upgraded with forged internals borrowed from the SLS AMG, bumping output to 510 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed AMG Speedshift MCT transmission with multiple shift modes and a dedicated Race Start function.

It is often regarded as a spiritual successor to the CLK63 Black Series and a final hurrah for AMG’s legendary 6.2L V8 before the shift to turbocharging.
