One of only 3,884 total Roadsters produced over the entire production run, and only one of 1,102 total cars (Coupe and Roadster together) produced in 2019.  This Roadster has the benefit of the highest horsepower and best performance offered in the i8.

This is one of the very best vehicles I have ever owned from the styling, quality and technology perspectives.  

The futuristic design, high-end materials, front-to-back build quality and seamless functionality are simply outstanding.  There are many unique features with this specific vehicle, such as the wide use of carbon fiber throughout the cabin and entire cockpit providing three times the strength of steel with one-third of the weight.  The multi-tiered waterfall dash design has been highly styled, using an excellent combination of high quality French stitched Brown Leather and carbon fiber.  The level of tech is also outstanding, with many high end features such as a real-time speed limit sign reading camera, head up windshield display with color navigation queues and multiple displays and also two LCD displays with a full suite of data display selections available.  

This vehicle can be driven in a full-electric mode for up to 25 miles, which is actually perfect for running errands or evenings on the town in complete silence.  This vehicle can also be driven in an automatic hybrid mode, with the vehicle automatically switching from electric power to gasoline depending on driving demands.  A simple manual toggle of the shifter engages the performance mode, employing all of the performance features of the entire drivetrain for maximum acceleration and handling. When engaged, the dash converts from a Hybrid Blue Econ readout to a Performance Red readout which displays critical information contributing to a spirited drive.  A launch mode is also available, although I have not experimented with this feature.  

Regenerative braking provides efficient re-charging of the high voltage battery when braking or when coasting down hills. In our mountainous area this is a notable benefit, as we recently drove using electric power, realizing battery re-charging was taking place the entire time we were coasting down our mountain range, thus advertised range was notable exceeded as we arrived with a fully charged battery.  Nearly all hybrid cars are capable of this, however the aerodynamic design of this specific vehicle provides further assistance when considering total MPGe.  We noticed in gasoline mode only, we averaged 55 MPG on the highway.

Visually speaking, the body design is simply staggering, top up or down, with the rear aero features found as absolutely futuristic.  The convertible top is internally lined for sound deadening and can be raised or lowered using the key fob as well as via manual switch in the console.  The soft top folds completely out of site behind a hinged panel with dual buttresses.  An electric rear window can be raised and lowered individually using a control at the top of the windshield frame.  The driver and passenger doors open in a dihedral manner, better known as butterfly doors.  The doors allow ease of access and will not be missed by casual bystanders – it’s simply fantastic.

This car was originally leased when new in 2019.  I purchased this vehicle from a local BMW Dealership off-lease.  Original retail price with all options: $168,595

LED Projector Beam Headlights, Auto Leveling, Auto High Beam (Works with incredible accuracy).  LED rear.

Tech

2 LCD Monitors, aerial view display. HUD windshield display, 360W, 11-Speaker Harman / Kardon Premium Sound System.  Front, Rear and Side Surround View Cameras.
Wheels and Tires
Factory BMW light-aluminum staggered wheels in Black finish:  Front: 20” x 7.5” and Rear 20 x 8.5”.  Tires: Front: 215/45-20 and Rear 245/40-20 are original to the car and have excellent tread.
Interior
6-Way power heated seats, driver and passenger.  All surfaces are new in appearance with almost no signs of any wear.  The seating is very comfortable and has memory for both driver and passenger.
Warranty:

NOTE: Two optional transferrable warranties are available at additional cost above and beyond the winning bid value if there is interest.  One warranty is for Allstate Platinum Coverage including Tire and Wheel, key replacement, paintless dent repair, windshield, interior, roadside services, etc., through January 2026 ($2,059) and another is a separate Platinum Extended Service Contract through BMW direct through November 2026 ($5,750) which is the highest level of protection with comprehensive coverage of most major components.  After the auction closes, if you are interested in adding these coverages please reach out to discuss further.  These warranties can only be transferred to an individual auction winner, not to a dealer, per warranty providers.

Please do not agree to purchase unless you are prepared to pay for this car within 7 total days of winning the auction.  A non-refundable $500.00 deposit required within 24 hours of purchasing. Balance due via wire transfer, with funds cleared before vehicle will be released.  Although it is the winning bidder’s responsibility to arrange to have this car picked up, I will gladly assist in loading at no charge.  Although you’ll be happy with this car, it is being sold  “As-is, no warranty of any kind, written or implied”.
