The 1974 BMW 2002tii Coupe stands as one of the most iconic models in BMW's storied history, representing the culmination of the company's 'Neue Klasse' era and its commitment to performance-oriented engineering. Introduced in 1971 and produced until 1974, the 2002tii (Touring International Injected) was the high-performance version of the standard 2002, itself a compact two-door sedan that helped revive BMW's global reputation in the 1960s and '70s.    The tii featured a 2.0-litre inline-four engine equipped with mechanical Kugelfischer fuel injection, producing 130 horsepower, significantly more than its carbureted counterparts. This gave the 2002tii brisk acceleration and a top speed of over 110 mph, making it a favorite among driving enthusiasts and motorsport fans. Its lightweight chassis, nimble handling, and precise steering set new benchmarks for compact performance cars.    The 1974 model marked the final year of U.S. import for the tii, featuring updated safety bumpers to meet federal regulations. The '74 remains a highly desirable example due to its mechanical refinement and rarity. Today, the BMW 2002tii Coupe is celebrated as a precursor to the modern sports sedan and a cornerstone of BMW's reputation for blending performance, practicality, and engineering excellence.    Nicely restored and well-maintained, this iconic 1974 BMW 2002tii is finished in Amazonas-Grun (Green) and is ready to be thoroughly enjoyed. Formerly of the late Rudy Mancinas Collection, a well-known German car collector, who is still known on social media as @mr_993, it has been well-documented throughout the years detailing when components were replaced and upgraded since the mid-2000s. The exterior is nicely presented; the interior cabin features BMW E21 Recaro bucket seats and reupholstered door panels, and an upgraded Alpine stereo system.     Under the hood lies a mechanically fit 1975 tii engine that is backed by a rebuilt four-speed manual gearbox. In preparation for the annual 2024 700-mile Tejas Turismo Driving Tour Rally that takes place in Texas, a handful of items were attended to, which included a new intake throttle body boot, new front strut mounts, new sway bar bushings, new battery, new clutch slave and master cylinder, as well as rebuilding the alternator.    Successfully finishing the 700-mile tour and continuing to rise in popularity and desirability among enthusiasts and collectors, this well-kept manual 1974 BMW 2002tii Coupe is ready to be further enjoyed on road-going rallies and everyday driving commutes or at local shows and gatherings.
