Aston Martin DB6 For Sale

The Aston Martin DB6 was first launched in 1965 at the London Motor Show following the success of the DB5. It was immortalized by Goldfinger, a famous 1964 James Bond film.

The 1967 Aston DB6 evolved from all Superleggera alloy-bodied DB4 and DB5. Despite sharing lots of styling cues from the DB4 and DB5, the company designed the Aston Martin DB6 for sale to become a four-passenger car.

Its wheelbase was lengthened by four inches, allowing additional passenger space in the rear. Its windshield was raked, and the roofline was raised by about an inch. These changes ended up creating more headroom at the back for passengers. The increased space in the DB6 rear made it a more practical family car.

One feature that stands out on the Aston Martin DB6 was the Kamm tail rear spoiler. It helped to reduce aerodynamic drag and provide the car with improved stability at high speed. It also featured split bumpers (both front and rear) and a revamped oil cooler aperture in the front valance.

Aston Martin DB6 Volante for sale: One year after the launch of the DB6, Aston Martin unveiled its first-ever convertible car, the DB6 Volante. This vehicle was based on the 1965 DB5 but donned the more luxurious feature of the DB6. When it was launched, it was nicknamed “Short Chassis” to help people distinguish it from the longer Aston Martin DB6.

Aston Martin DB6 convertible upper framework is similar to the one on the Aston Martin DB5. The only difference is that the convertible has a lower framework, which offers the oil cooler an additional airflow.

This car’s headlights are oval-shaped with coverings over the top. The front fender comes with two heat extractors featuring a chrome strip between them, which gives the flat part of the vehicle some character.

The stylish 1967 Aston DB6 volante convertible offers a four-seat accommodation. It features leather upholstery, deep-pile carpets, an electrically operated hood, and an aircraft-style instrument cluster.

Interior amenities include an AM radio at the center with one speaker just directly below it. Although it has a heater, you won’t find an A/C in the car. This classic car also comes with power windows and an analog clock.

The engine under the hood of this convertible remains unchanged from that of the DB5. It’s a 3,995-cc inline six-cylinder engine with triple SU carburetors, producing 282 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 280 lbs of torque at 4,500 rpm. The car also features Borg-Warner automatic transmission coupled up with a standard ZF five-speed gearbox.

You will love this high-powered classic sports car. There are very few vehicles from the 1960s era that could squeeze that kind of power in an inline six-cylinder. Furthermore, its interior and exterior are unique. As a result, it will attract the attention of onlookers as you drive.
