Get Away in Chesapeake Bay

Few places can match the natural splendor offered in Virginia Beach, located at the Southeastern entrance to the Chesapeake Bay.  With over 30 miles of shoreline and 70 miles of scenic waterways, Virginia Beach is a prime spot for waterfront properties, whether you are searching for a single family home, a condominium or land to build your dream home.

"While many parts of the country have beautifully constructed homes, few have the number of gorgeous sites on bays, rivers and the oceanfront as Virginia Beach has. With its relaxing lifestyle and quality of life, it is a great place to live," says West.

Aside from the natural beauty, the location of Virginia Beach itself is ideal.  It is close enough to Williamsburg and Jamestown for a day trip, where one can visit many historical sites and Busch Gardens. Popular weekend trips include Virginia's wine country and the slopes of Wintergreen ski resort.

In addition to enjoying all types of boating, fishing and water sports, there are many opportunities for hiking, camping and biking.  First Landing State Park and False Cape State Park are great areas for these activities.

Associate Broker and native of the area, Jeanne Westwith RE/MAX Allianceis a fabulous resource for both buyers and sellers.  She has been specializing in waterfront properties for over 35 years and has sold some of the most beautiful properties in the area.

Experience that Top-of-the-World Feeling at Mountain Air- Burnsville, North Carolina

Imagine relaxing on your porch, enjoying a cool breeze and gazing at a mountain vista stretching a hundred miles. Even though you’re close to eclectic Asheville, North Carolina, it seems a world away because you’ve found a special place where daily cares recede and the pace slows.

You’re in Mountain Air, a multi-generational private mountain community nestled nearly 5,000 feet up in North Carolina’s historic Blue Ridge Mountains. Here residents delight in an uncomplicated, gracious lifestyle combining natural beauty, exceptional quality of life and simple contentment – whether for a few months or year-round. Member-owned Mountain Air is often described as an unpretentious place where it’s possible to relax, decompress and have fun – all within an unspoiled natural setting with incredible mountain vistas.

For more than 25 years, families and their friends have enjoyed a wealth of amenities unequalled by other communities, including the ability to fly in and land on a private mountaintop runway just steps from the clubhouse. There’s mountaintop golf, tennis, a fitness center, heated pool, farm-to-table dining, hiking and outdoor recreation, and ongoing events and activities.

One of the benefits of a community that is established, complete and socially mature is the selection of homes, condominiums and villas that are available. The move-in convenience of an existing property lets you immerse yourself into the Mountain Air lifestyle quickly and effortlessly. Both condominiums and villas offer easy living with virtually every aspect of maintenance taken care of by active property owners associations. And there also are still home sites where you can build that dream mountain getaway. Plus, a range of prices makes life here enticing and readily accessible, while the club offers membership options to satisfy virtually any desire.

And once you’re here, you’ll understand why residents call it “summer camp for adults.”

Saint Vincent and The Grenadines: A Caribbean Gem

By Nicole Slaughter-Graham

Nestled within the glittering Caribbean Sea sits a sparkling, hidden gem known as St. Vincent and the Grenadine. This chain of 32 lush, tropical islands hosts an abundance of natural beauty from an active volcano to Lush greenery, tropical rain forest, mountainous landscapes adorned with waterfalls and an abundance of tropical fruits and flowering plants.

Incredible aquatic life, colorful coral and perfect white-sand beaches, which make the Caribbean an appealing vacation hub, offer residents the feeling of endless vacation.  In fact, a few vacationers who have had the opportunity to visit the Grenadines find the area so enticing, they move there permanently.

Barbara Eardley, the RE/MAX Broker, was one of those people. “We moved here from Texas.  My husband and I were on vacation and when we came to the Grenadines, we instantly fell in love. It’s

like nothing I’ve ever seen before.”Now, Eardley helps make the dream of living in the Grenadines a reality for potential residents. Later this year , the new Argyle  international airport located on the main island of Saint Vincent is due to open. This will make The Grenadines more easily accessible. “I have no doubt this will be one of the most sought after tourist destination in the Caribbean,” says Eardley. For now though, The Grenadines remain a true hidden diamond, offering exquisite scenery and the feeling of being on a permanent vacation for those who have been fortunate enough to call SVG home.

This Democratic nation is 133 square miles of beautiful Caribbean expanse rich in culture and natural beauty. Of the 32 islands, nine are inhabited. The island chain is well known to royalty and the rich and famous alike. Esteemed members of the Royal Family and many celebrities have taken refuge on the Grenadine island of Mustique, the “playground of the elite.”

St. Vincent and The Grenadines offer luxury living and incredible value to potential residents. “This is a great time to invest in St. Vincent and The Grenadines,” Eardley states. “Being less known than the other Caribbean Islands, the real estate values are relatively low, the lifestyle wonderful.”
