West Coast of Florida: Tampa

By Lauryn Howell

With so many picturesque destinations, choosing a Florida city to call home can be difficult. South Florida is known for its upbeat city life, while west coast cities like Sarasota provide a quiet place to relax and unwind. Yet no city perfectly embodies both quite as well as Tampa. Situated on Florida’s stunning Gulf Coast, Tampa has all the convenience of a big city with the feel of a laid back beach town.

While Tampa is a growing business hub, the city is not all work and no play. In fact, Tampa and nearby St. Petersburg are home to three professional sports teams and countless museums. In between seasons residents can be found enjoying their Saturday out on the water or simply relaxing under the warm Florida sunshine.

Tampa also maintains a strong art and cultural presence, hosting numerous concerts, festivals and events each year. With its worldclass shopping malls and two local theme parks there’s certainly something for everyone in the family. Although there’s seemingly no reason to leave, Tampa adds to its amenities with a centrally located international airport, making travel a breeze.

In the words of Steve Eckhardt, owner/broker at Cornerstone Properties International, “We’ve got the best of everything in Tampa, and that’s why I think people move here.” A Tampa native for nearly 20 years, Steve has been selling luxury homes on Florida’s magnificent Gulf Coast since 1999. Constantly striving to provide legendary client service, Steve has developed a unique branding and leading-edge market standard, setting every client’s property apart from the rest.

It’s easy to see why Tampa has found its way onto countless top lists over the years. It truly cannot be matched in luxury, convenience and beauty. Unbeatable weather aside, there’s a million reasons to fall in love with this one-of-a-kind Florida city.

By Malena Carollo

Nestled in a cul-de-sac on the northern end of Anna Maria Island, 517 Blue Heron Drive is a spacious property backing up to peaceful Bimini Bay offered by Brandy Coffey of Team Coffey & Company, proud members of the Keller Williams Luxury Homes Division. With four bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths, this three-story home was made for entertaining.

Invite guests into the chef-inspired kitchen to enjoy a beverage from the wine racks or cold wine storage. An oversized custom granite island provides a comfortable gathering area to sample appetizers prepared on the six-burner Jenn-Air gas range and double oven.

Take your guests out for a sunset cruise on the Gulf of Mexico from the property’s private custom dock, which features a 7,500-pound boat lift and launch area for your bay boat, personal watercraft or paddleboards and kayaks. For on-land relaxation, lounge in the home’s indoor cabana with a summer kitchen overlooking the pool and spa.

Multiple guests can stay comfortably in the two guest rooms on the main living floor. The master suite is located on the third level with a spacious bathroom, walk-in closet, separate sitting area and wet bar. There is also a spare bedroom on the third level, and a private elevator allows access from the oversized two-car garage up to the third floor.

The property is just a few minutes from a variety of activities and locales. Anna Maria Island is home to multiple art galleries, lush golf courses and countless snorkeling experiences. Take a relaxing stroll through the Palma Sola Botanical Park and see their specialty gardens, lakes and gazebo, which is popular for special events and weddings.

For an offbeat afternoon, try horseback riding on the beach or renting a scooter to see the island at a leisurely pace. After working up an appetite, head to one of several nearby restaurants, many of which serve fresh, locally caught fish and seafood

West Coast of Florida: Ozona

By Lauryn Howell, Photos courtesy of Coastal Properties Group International

If you long for the small-town Key West lifestyle, but don’t wish to be quite so far from the conveniences of a modern city, look no further than Ozona, Florida. With its quaint style and intimate feel, it’s easy to forget that this unique city is less than an hour from downtown Tampa. Founded circa 1875, Ozona effortlessly combines historical charm with the beauty of its coastal location.

A quick boat ride away from three barrier islands, Ozona provides boaters with an alternative to the standard waterfront restaurant destinations. Because it’s a golf cart community with only a few shops and restaurants, residents feel as if they’ve been whisked away to their own private escape.

Coastal Properties Group and Christie’s International Real Estate’s agents are experts in helping clients find their Florida dream home. One of their gorgeous listings is tucked away in beautiful Ozona at 672 Soundview Drive.

This 6,500-square-foot masterpiece sits at the end of a winding private drive lined with palms, on five-plus acres of stunning waterfront property. The five bedrooms and luxurious interior are great for relaxing while the expansive outdoor patio, complete with a pool and kitchen, makes entertaining a breeze. Its seven-car garage and private dock make it perfect for avid boaters and car enthusiasts alike.

Wander into the living room to discover 22-foot ceilings, then continue through to the striking kitchen with butler’s pantry. Step outside and see the pristine pool and manicured lawns sitting between you and the sparkling Gulf of Mexico. The neighboring lot is available for expansion, opening up the opportunity for add-ons or possibly a guest house.

Ozona has so much to offer, from its unbeatable location, to the flawless Florida weather. However, it’s the laid back vibe that transforms visitors into residents. A fusion of seclusion and natural beauty, Ozona is truly the hidden gem of Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Luxurious Waterfront Living: Brevard County, Florida

By Cathleen McCann

Brevard County is a major up-and-coming area on central Florida’s Atlantic Coast. Often referred to as “The Hidden Jewel of Florida’s East Coast,” it is home to Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, earning it the nickname of the Space Coast.

While the space program might have put the area on the map, Brevard County’s fantastic location, warm climate and pleasant pace of life, combined with excellent home values, are a few of the reasons the area is seeing growth.

Melbourne, Brevard County’s capital, has beautiful communities adorned with palm trees and Mediterranean-style homes, as well as Caribbean/Key West-style homes. Its unique topography of ocean, rivers and canals makes waterfront living opportunities plentiful.

“We have it all here in Melbourne,” says Grace Vista, broker/owner of Vista Florida Realty, LLC, a boutique firm centrally located in Melbourne, Florida, specializing in waterfront, golf course communities and luxury real estate. “It’s a paradise for boating on the Intracoastal and rivers, fishing, birding and golfing.” Vista and her team help people with all of their luxury real estate needs—from relocation assistance to purchasing vacation homes and investment properties. With all of this and more, it’s no wonder that Melbourne is attracting young families, business professionals and retirees alike.

Quality and price make homes here a great value. Proximity to major international airports and beaches help make it an attractive and vibrant community.

Luxury home examples include a 4-bedroom, 4,012-square-foot oceanfront condo in Indialantic for $1.059 million. This penthouse condo has a balcony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and a double-sided fireplace. A $699,000 contemporary Frank Lloyd Wright tribute home on the Indian River has a swimming pool and a new 213-foot dock. Additionally, many golf course communities have Mediterranean-style homes overlooking the golf course starting in the low $400,000 range.

“People are excited to move here,” says Vista. “Our luxury homes offer great value and many options.”
