Aston Martins have held a special interest to car collectors from around the world
since the company’s foundation in 1913. Aston Martin cars became extremely sought
after and gained widespread notoriety because of their role in the James Bond films.
Aston Martin went up for sale and was quickly purchased by Ford in 1994 and became
a part of its Premier Automotive Group. Ford put Aston Martin up for sale in the
early 2000s and it has since been sold off to private hands. Some of new cars by
Aston Martin include the DBS, the DB9, and the Vantage. The four-door Rapide is
latest offering from the luxury brand.
The Vantage is the least expensive model in the Aston Martin line up. It has won
a variety of design awards from different magazines and automotive shows throughout
the world. The DB9 is Aston Martin’s grand touring coupe released in 2004. The DBS
is the Aston Martin flagship. It made its debut in the James Bond movie Casino Royale.
Power comes from the same 6.0-liter V-12 used in the DB9 but tuned to make more
power. The Aston Martin Rapide is a four-door sedan with a raked, coupe profile.
It is designed to steal some of the market share away from the successful Mercedes-Benz
CLS and Porsche Panamera.
Aston Martin competes in the exotic car market, which can make the Aston Martins
for sale hard to find. On the higher end, it competes against Ferrari and Lamborghini.
On the lower end it competes against the Porsche 911 and other, less expensive autos.
Due to the wide range of prices, Aston Martin automobiles appeal to a variety of
well-off people with different incomes.
