Introduced as a successor to the Lamborghini Diablo in 2001, the Murcielago didn't depart from the styling that made the Diablo a success. In 2004, the open-top Murcielago Roadster debuted to much fanfare. In 2006, the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 replaced the standard Murcielago. The LP640's engine was a bit bigger—up from 6.2 liters to 6.5 liters—and a bit more powerful. |

Introduced as a successor to the Lamborghini Countach in 1990, the Diablo didn't depart from the styling that made the Countach a success. The SE, or Special Edition, model was available during 1994–1995. In 1995, Lamborghini introduced the Diablo SV, which lost its all-wheel-drive layout for rear-wheel drive. In 1999, the Dibalo replaced its flip-up headlights for fixed units. |

Lamborghini introduced the Countach in 1974. The first Countach model can be considered the LP400. In 1978, Lamborghini introduced the LP400S; changes were not much more than cosemetic. In 1982, the engine grew to 5.0 liters; cars with the new larger engine are sometimes referred to as the LP5000S. In 1985, the engine grew once again to 5.2 liters and was under a new nomenclature called the 5000QV. |
