The Bentley Arnage is a luxury car that was introduced in 1998. The Arnage had a
identical sibling offered by Rolls-Royce under the name Silver Seraph. The only
big difference between the two was the engines used. The Arnage got the 4.4L V-8
and the Silver Seraph got a V-12 from BMW. The Arnage was then bought by Volkswagen.
Due to customer demand and a desire to rid the brand of BMW-based products, Bentley
slowly re-established the 6.75-liter V-8 as the only engine available. During this
transition period, the BMW-engined car was named the "Green Label", while the old
Bentley V-8 went with "Red Label". In 2001, Bentley completely dropped the BMW
engine and the "Green Label" name.
Arnage RL came out in 2001 as a long wheel-base limousine model. The Arnage T was
a heavily turbocharged model producing an additional 50 horsepower for a total of
450 horsepower. In 2007, both the Arnage R and Arnage T gained an additional 50
horsepower. The Azure is the convertible version of the Arnage.
