Acuras for sale are available at the duPont REGISTRY. Currently
the Acura model line includes five different vehicles in a variety of trim levels
and options. The Acuras vary enough to provide the perfect car to fit many people’s
needs. The lowest-priced Acura is the TSX, which is a perfect first car. The medium-priced
Acura, the TL, is designed for the needs of a young professional, offering a sporty
ride that doesn’t neglect those luxury interior touches. While the Acura designed
for the busy mother has to be either the MDX or RDX sport utility vehicles. The
premier, flagship model in the Acura line is the RL, designed to be both luxurious
and sporty, the RL provides the best of both worlds. The Acura NSX should be revived
by 2010 and, hopefully, win back its trophy as the best Japanese sports car.
Introduced in 2004, the TSX is viewed as a cheaper alternative to the BMW 3-series.
The Acura TSX for sale comes with a 200-hp 2.4-liter i-VTEC I-4. The TSX obtains
its sporty nature from the double-wishbone front suspension and torque-sensing variable-assist
steering. At its heart, the TSX is a Japanese Honda Accord rebadged as an Acura.
The Acura TL is in direct competition with the BMW 3-series, a car that holds the
hearts of the masses. Debuting in 1996, the Acura TL offered a 3.2-liter V-6 producing
200 hp. Revised in 2000, the new TL came standard with a 225-hp version of the 3.2-liter
V-6 but was also available with a 260-hp version of the same engine in Type-S trim.
The second generation was praised for its ability to do most things very well but
not specifically greater in any one aspect than its competition. The third generation
of the TL was introduced in 2004 with sharper styling and a standard 260-hp V-6.
The new Type-S got the 3.5-liter V-6.
The MDX is the sport utility vehicle offered by Acura since 2001. Based off the
Honda Pilot, the Acura MDX now comes equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 producing 265
hp, although when first introduced it made 240 hp. The vehicle is large enough to
hold three-row’s worth of people, unlike the Acura RDX, MDX’s little brother, which
is a compact crossover. The RDX is less than the MDX in size, price and total sales.
Although, in size and price, the RL competes directly with the mid-sized competition
from Mercedes and Lexus, Acura likes to say the RL, its flagship, competes with
full-sized luxury cars, like the Mercedes S-class and Lexus LS. The first generation
was offered from 1996–2004 and came equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 making 210 hp.
It unfortunately did not sell well. The second generation came out in 2004, again
with the same 3.5-liter V-6 making 290 hp and a sophisticated all-wheel drive system
intended to improve handling. In 2009, the RL had a mid-life change that included
revised styling and a 3.7-liter V-6 making 300-hp.
