Two tons of hand built luxury can be yours if you look for a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud for sale. Silver Cloud III arrived in 1963 and featured more refinements. The engine was revised with nitrided crankshafts and a higher compression ratio. This was the most powerful Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, and it was produced until 1966. Over this eleven year run, over 7300 cars were built, and many have been lovingly cared for. Before purchase, make sure to have the car inspected by a British car workshop, as there are many systems and parts that are uncommon to the normal technician.

If you are in the market for a classic Rolls-Royce, the Silver Cloud is your best option. England was emerging from the rubble of WWII and in 1955 they shocked the world with the launch of the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud. Many Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud models were built by coachbuilders like Park Ward and HJ Mulliner. These were among the last Rolls-Royce models to be coach built, as both firms were brought in-house by the mid sixties.

If you need more legroom, the Long Wheelbase Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud offers four additional inches of rear floor pan without much change in outward bodywork. Many innovations were introduced with the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud. Rolls-Royce chose the Silver Cloud to be their first model equipped with automatic transmission, power steering and power windows.

Power originally came from their venerable straight six, but a new Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II arrived in 1959 with a 6.2L V8. After studying many American designs, they took the best features of each V8 and built one of the smoothest running engines ever made. The overhead valve design uses a common shaft for the rocker arms, and hydraulic tappets for smooth operation. With an aluminum block and heads, the more powerful engine was lighter than the inline six it replaced.

All three versions of the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud are stately and majestic pieces of history. For more information, we can connect you with one of our premier dealers to help you find your Silver Cloud.
