Possibly one of the most relaxing and romantic cars on the market, the Rolls-Royce Drophead for sale was designed after the J-class racing yachts of the 1930s. The Coupe is built around the idea of providing both driver and passenger alike with a luxuriously exceptional experience while inside. The marque describes their newest luxury sedan as the more relaxed and less formal side of the ultra-luxury car as they surround everyone inside with pristine detail and unimaginable luxury. Achieving this meant the British company had to bring forth a timeless picture of beauty and elegance, ensuring a motoring experience nobody could forget.

There is something so romantic about the notion of the Drophead coupe. Sitting behind the wheel of this piece of art feels more like you are flying at 35,000 feet in a Gulfstream G650. The company’s yachting inspiration is evident in every aspect of the cars gorgeous design. To start, the vehicles large proportions evoke a nautical feel. Combine that with the teak rear deck and wind whipping through your hair and the theme is complete. As always, the car seamlessly meshes timeless design features with state-of-the-art technology. Take, for instance, the thin rimmed three-spoke steering wheel and old-fashioned analog gauges featured in the same space as LED headlights. Impressive as that all is, what impressed me most was the drivability of a luxury car rivaling the size of a large SUV. Featuring a 6.7-liter V-12 engine capable of producing 453 horsepower and 531 foot-pounds of torque, the coupe is actually remarkably responsive when you step on the throttle. The power is impressively passed to the rear with a seamless 8-speed automatic transmission.

Introduced in 2008 and now entering its fourth model year, not much has changed on RR’s most expensive new model. It is still the more ostentatious attention-grabbing personality of the lineup, from the real brushed steel hood to the teak wood to the mere fact that this is the only RR that has a top that lowers and allows all its occupants to be viewed instead of sitting back in obscurity. The Drophead is long, much like the sedan, and stands high, all of which adds to its immense presence. The luxury car builder also offers Bespoke models, which are custom tailored to its customers'; desires. These normally feature special colors, interior features, luggage, or badges. Standout builds include a custom jewelry case in the passenger's glove compartment and a four-piece picnic set for the rear trunk.

St. Tropez. Monte Carlo. Newport Beach. Fort Lauderdale. East Quogue. Anywhere with glitz, glam, and water to park the yacht—is where you’ll find Rolls-Royce's most expensive offering.

This is the only car in the world that comes with hand oiled teak decking to match that of your yacht's; the only Rolls where normally publicity-shy owners - Simon Cowell excepted are happy for the world to point and stare at them. Its cloth roof is nothing less than a work of art. It’s the biggest top of any modern day convertible, it comes with five layers of sound-deadening insulation and cashmere-blend headlining. JLo in a bikini wouldn’t rotate heads as instantly as the sight of a Drophead dropping its top. With the top lowered, there is nothing grander than stepping through the majestic rear-hinged suicide doors and sinking back into those leather-lined Barcaloungers.

And it's now even more of a joy to drive, say along the Cote d’Azur Grand Corniche overlooking the shimmery Mediterranean, courtesy of the large 6.75-liter V-12 and new eight-speed ZF automatic.

Want a little more action, then press the silver Sport button and all 531 lb-ft of torque is summoned into action and the car lunges at the horizon like an Exocet missile. But don’t go too fast above 50 mph, a small hurricane swirls around the rear seating.
