A tribute to the Mille Miglia road race will be making its inaugural launch in North America from August 14 to the 17 in advance of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. A dedicate path to honor the "world's greatest road race" will be set alongside 1,000 miles of the California coast. Along the way, drivers will be invited to special VIP events, buffet-style lunches, and four nights in luxury hotels with complimentary dinners and breakfasts.
Like the event in Italy, only vehicles manufactured between 1927 and 1957 will be accepted. The event expects thousands of applicants but only 300 select vehicles will be given the special opportunity to join. Beyond the application process, an entry fee of $8,000 is also required.
This year’s Italian Mille Miglia starts on May 12 and features 375 cars selected from a pool of 1,400 applicants. The Italian Mille Miglia passes through such notable towns as Modena, Bologna, Florence, and Rome.
