Ralph Gilles, the head of Chrysler’s design, has reportedly told reporters at the Detroit Motor Show that he hopes the 2013 Dodge Viper will attract Porsche-philes and Corvette lovers away from their respective brands with its “drop-dead beautiful” styling that was inspired by the look of “a naked woman on the beach.” The last Viper’s styling was very provocative, we would even say sexy. But it wasn’t the car’s styling that drove buyers away. For the next Dodge Viper to truly succeed in its current price bracket, it will need to gain a little fluidity in the way it handles, be less likely to bite back, be more comfortable, and offer appeal that is more widespread.
