The 2010 Barrett-Jackson Auction is underway at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas and sales are already up from the previous year. As of this morning, 176 cars have crossed the auction block for a grand total of $4.2 million, up from the $3.7 million it sold last year with 148 autos. Barrett-Jackson hopes that this year’s pool of more than 500 collector, luxury, and exotic cars generates more than the $23 million it made last year on 400 similar lots. The auction runs from Thursday to Saturday and includes such standout vehicles like a 1985 Camaro that has been autographed by Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, and Tom Petty; a 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren convertible; a 2008 Bugatti Veyron; and the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible we previously told you about.
