Ronald McDonald House to raffle off a 1969 Camaro SS Convertible

Ronald McDonald House of Charities of Central Valley is raffling off a red 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible to benefit its “home away from home” cause; providing physical, mental, and financial help to families with children that have a serious illness. Ronald McDonald House gives a temporary home (instead of sleeping in the hospital room or at a motel) to more than 1,000 families a year.

The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro being raffled off is red with a white top and comes with the 325-hp 396-cid V-8 connected to an automatic transmission. The charity describes the special car: “The general appearance of the 1969 Camaro did not change much compared to the first two years, having kept the basic body lines and basic ‘look.’ The 1969 Camaro carried over the previous year's drivetrain and major mechanical components, but all-new sheetmetal, except the hood and trunk lid, gave the car a substantially sportier look. The grille was redesigned with a heavy ‘V’ and deeply inset headlights. New door skins, rear quarter panels, and rear valance panel also gave the car a much lower, wider, more aggressive look. This styling would serve for the 1969 model year only!”

Tickets range in price from one ticket for three dollars to 1,200 tickets for $1,000. The winner will be drawn on November 13, 2010.
