**Update**You can read about the official 2011 BMW 335i Coupe changes and the 2011 BMW 33i Convertible changes here. No word on if the 335is is coming and if it will retain the N55 engine.**Update**
**Update**News has also leaked on the BMW 3-series, which will retain the twin-turbo N54 engine and gain the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission as an option for 2010. A leaked BMW Canada document shows the BMW 335is coupe and cabriolet making 322 hp and 332 lbs.-ft. of torque (though 369 lbs.-ft. is available temporarily), an increase of 22 and 32, respectfully. The is designation is a part BMW's new nomenclature for its sportiest base models; slotting below the brand's sacred Ms. BMW first demonstrated this when it introduced the BMW Z4 sDrive35is. More details can be found on the "leaked" document below. **Update**

BMW announced that the 2011 135i will use a single twin-scroll turbocharger engine, which goes by the N55 designation, in place of its twin-turbo N54 engine. Power will remain exactly the same; however, BMW says the new engine will have a better throttle response, be more fuel efficient, and will bring torque in slightly lower in the rev range.
Besides the new engine, BMW will also be bringing in its seven-speed dual-clutch transmission as an option, replacing the six-speed automatic. Gears can be swapped via column-mounted paddles; the right paddle used for upshifts and the left paddle for downshifts. Shifts can also be performed via the shift lever on the center console.
The new options will be available in the spring of 2010 as 2011 models.
