Is chrome the next matte black?

Starting in 2007 matte black really started to become the cool color of choice. However, now that we are nearly in 2010, what’s hot is once again changing and it might very well mean that chrome is the next big thing. To us, chrome was cool on our Hot Wheels cars, but just doesn’t seem to look right on the real thing. What do you think? Is matte black still hot or is chrome the new way to go?

The owner of this chrome-wrapped Nissan GT-R said this is the second wrap he has put on the car since he took delivery in July. Prior to the mirror finish the owner went with a matte white.

This chrome Murcielago was spotted in London. Unlike matte black, chrome is sure to draw people's attention, as we can see from the many gawkers in the background.

Lindsey Lohan may be cash strapped but the Mean Girls star still knows how to ride in style. The matte-black Phantom sedan with the glossy piano-black interior finish is rented and not owned.
