We must admit we were a little miffed when we heard that Aston Martin would not be bringing over its V-12 Vantage to the States. So we are glad to see a report by Car and Driver that Aston Martin has decided to vamp up production and ship the 510-hp V-12 car across the pond. The additional 90 hp is a welcome and much needed update to keep Aston Martin’s entry-level auto viable in a market that contains performance coupes and convertibles that weigh less and are as powerful as or more powerful. Currently its 420-hp V-8 Vantage competes against the the 525-hp V-10 R8, 500-hp 911 Turbo, and the 518-hp SL63 AMG.
Originally Aston was planning to only produce 1,000 V-12 Vantages and was only going to sell them in Europe.
