The first one has already sold for half-million dollars. It is the replacement for the Arnage and is due out by the middle of 2010 as a 2011. It is Bentley’s latest flagship sedan and will be appropriately named the Mulsanne. Power will likely, although no confirmations have been made, come from the tried-and-true 6.75-liter V-8 engine and making in the proximity of 500 hp and 740 lb-ft of torque. MSRP will start at $300,000.
By far the best part of the Mulsanne is its departure from the upright stature that has been a big part of Bentley’s styling formula. The Mulsanne has more flowing lines and, despite its considerable length, looks like a better coupe than Bentley’s own Brooklands coupe. More details should follow at Frankfurt.
