Lamborghini has taken the sheets off the Murcielago LP670-4 SV before its live unveiling at the Geneva Auto Show. As previously estimated, the car will be 220 lbs. lighter—75 of which came from the interior—and 29 hp more powerful than the LP640. If these first photos are any precursor to the actual look of the car, we can expect to see some dramatic differences between a stock LP640 and the SV. Zero-to-60 mph should take a scant 3.2 seconds and if the throttle is nailed on a long stretch of road, the newest Murcie should be able to get up to 212 mph.
The additional horsepower comes via optimized valve timing and a reworked intake system. Besides saving weight in the interior, engineers also replaced the front fenders and rear fenders with carbon fiber and replaced the framework with new lighter high-strength sectional steel. Despite the wing’s huge size, it helps reduce the weight of the car by a further 29 lbs. View more Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 pictures here.
