The Audi R8 5.2 FSI had a surge of automotive accolades from some of the bigger names in the industry today.

Motor Trend noted after its first drive that it was one of the few supercars “you can truly enjoy in a wider range of road and weather conditions than almost any other.” Motor Trend concluded that only a few supercars are as good to drive as the R8 V10, but “definitely not as good to drive as much of the time.”

Automobile confidently named it the “new leader of the pack” over the Porsche 911 Turbo, Gallardo LP560-4, and SL63 AMG in terms of “A-to-B ground-covering ability; and that all-important blend of confidence, compliance, and comfort”.

Car Magazine concluded that the “R8 V10 is better looking and better to drive than the similarly priced Porsche 911 Turbo, and significantly quicker than the R8 V8. In fact, you could say it’s getting close to the brilliance of the £140k Lamborghini LP560-4 but costs £40k less”.
