2008 CAPARO T1
NEWS & REVIEWS
This is not a car to run the kids to school in. Unless you’re in a real hurry. The ultimate roadgoing track car, the Caparo T1 has been engineered by men who helped develop the McLaren F1 and is the first production car with more than 1,000-hp per ton, exceeding the Bugatti Veyron. Top speed of this fighter-on-wheels is more than 200 mph, and it will blast from zero-to-60 mph in a gut-wrenching F1 equivalent of 2.5 seconds. It generates the same level of grip as a Le Mans racecar and will corner at 3.0 g. The British-built Caparo uses the latest aerospace-carbon-fiber materials to form an incredibly strong tub, with racecar-style, fully adjustable suspension. Aerodynamics are a mix of a single seater and a sports cars, and power comes from an Indy-style 3.5-liter V-8 that revs to 10,500 rpm and can run on methanol to appeal to those with a green conscience. It’s not just fast; it’s crazy-stupid fast.
