2007 Lorinser S06
NEWS & REVIEWS
It didn’t take long for master Mercedes modifier Lorinser to work its magic on the all-new S-Class Benz. Instead of going all crazy with mega horsepower, the conversion is aimed at improving everyday drivability. So the stock 5.5-liter V-8 gets a lift from 388 bhp to 420, largely through reprogramming the computer and modifying the exhaust to improve engine breathing. Of course, if you do want to go crazy, there’s a supercharger conversion that will bump up max power to 516 bhp. While it’s tough to improve on the bold looks of the new S, Lorinser has tried its best by adding a more thrusting front spoiler; a new rear spoiler with cool, angular tailpipes; and stunning, fan-blade-style 21-inch alloys. The extra power and new air-cleaving body takes the top speed of the new S06 up to an electronically limited 174 mph, but the supercharged version should see 205 mph on the speedo. www.lorinser.com
