As “supercars” go, Jeep’s wild ’n’ whacky Grand Cherokee SRT8 is as oddball as they come. Powered by a thundering 6.1-liter, 420-bhp iron-block Hemi V-8, which cranks out 425 lb-ft of torque, this Jeep-with-an-attitude can lunge to 60 mph from standstill in an unbelievable 4.9 seconds. That’s faster than a Porsche Cayenne Turbo. Heck it’s almost as fast as a 911 with Tiptronic. And what’s even crazier is that this brick-shaped four-by-four tops at 155 mph. But the SRT8 isn’t just about a monster engine. The suspension is fully sorted with Bilstein dampers, wrist-thick sway bars, and firmer springs and bushings. And at each corner four-piston Brembo calipers clamp down on 14-inch rotors. Drive it on the track and it’ll blow your mind; drive it on a curvy highway and you won’t quit grinning.
