With its Alpha 12 package, AMS Performance has become the first tuner to break the eight-second quarter-mile barrier in a Nissan GT-R. On July 26, 2011, AMS took its in-the-works and already record-breaking Alpha 12 package back to the track for a few more quarter-mile runs in optimum weather. The result was an 8.95-second quarter-mile blast with a trap speed of 169.49 mph. That’s 0.1 of a second quicker and 2.83 mph faster than its previous record-setting sprint.
