Is the Agera R to the Agera what the CCXR is to the CCX? The first Agera R has reportedly been delivered to the Omani royal family and it is said that, like the CCXR, its 4.7-liter V-8 engine produces more power when running off E85 biofuel. When processing what you normally find at the pump, the Agera R produces the same 898 hp as the base Agera. Speculation is that that figure will approach 1,100 hp once the corn-based ethanol is added. The reasons behind the extra power lies in the fuel’s attributes. Because E85 fuel has a higher octane rating and cooling abilities, the engine can run with higher compression, boost pressure, and more spark advance compared to the normal gasoline-powered Agera. No word if the royal family of Oman will get the only Agera R or if it will be offered alongside the Agera in the Koenigsegg model lineup.
